Bright and inviting spot for a nice wine selection and light eats. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice selection of regional wines and cheeses. Great spot for a glass of wine or a light meal.

This is a nice place to enjoy wine and some small plates. The service is plenty friendly. The wines were generally good although the selection is on the smaller side. It's best to get a reservation if you come here as the tables are limited.

First of all. Make a reservation. If not you won't be able to dine here. The place is really small and it's kind of a Tapas place but don't expect the traditional Spanish Tapas. In Fangas most of the dishes are from Portuguese heritage. We asked for 4 different dishes and everything we tried was great and the service is... More

The food, service and the atmosphere at this tiny place deserve the rave reviews that they have been getting, so let me add just one little bit off advice. If you have not booked a place, do not hang your head and cry when you look through the window and see little 'Reservado' signs on all the empty tables. We... More

I travel around a lot and have eaten in a lot of Portuguese restaurants but I think this one pretty much tops them all. 3 of us went, I ordered one of the traditional sausages to share and a small plate to myself. We were stuffed but the food was so good we ordered pudding as well. Be sure to... More

Fangas is an ideal restaurant for the tourist who wishes to delight in the sights, smells and tastes of the finest traditional Portuguese gastronomy, while enjoying a home-like atmosphere. It is a small establishment right at the heart of downtown Coimbra, in a cramped little street that reminds us of those postcard Italian or Spanish villas, a place brimming with... More

We had to walk around in the city and wait behind the door since the restaurant was full but it was tottally worth it. They have very good ideas for different tapas. The place is very small but so cute! Almost feels like being in someone's livingroom. Prices are also reasonable. Loving the place!

If you want to visit Coimbra and take a trip to one of its finest places to eat, Fangas IS the place. It is a little small but not necessarily bad, I find it to be more of a private place to be with friends or any kind of company. They are filled with original gastronomy and good selection of... This is a very small but cozy place. The food was excellent but tapas. The wine and products selection is excellent. You will have a taste of what Portugal has to offer. Excellent gastronomic experience at an affordable price. Dont go by car.

Although the food is interesting, the service is terrible. Not that anyone is impolite; but the time one has to wait to be served is incredible. Despite ordering a can of sardines. Everything is incredibly slow and you end up staying there longer not because of the nice environment, but because your dish is taking well over half an hour... More
