My partner and I visited Cafe Au Lait for breakfast after reading reviews on TA. We had actually walked past it the evening before without realising it and I think that's testament to the quite unremarkable frontage. Internally the cafe is very pleasantly decorated and light. The owner recognised us as being British immediately and offered us menus written in... More

After a miserable lunch experience at a nearby dump my husband treated me to the most delcious and heavenly waffle dessert of my life to date. The waffles were airy and fluffy not thick and doughy like they are here in the US. The staff was so lovely and didn't even make a face when I decided to top my... More

Was not a big fan of waffles till I have tasted the ones served at Cafe Au Lait!! After our first meal there we kept on going for breakfast every single days of our stay in Bruges! Plus great location and fancy deco.

The waffles are so light they melt in your mouth. Good value, very friendly staff in a central location.

I had the perfectly prepared waffle and strawberries, my wife had the salmon grilled sandwich- very well prepared. Excellent lunch.

The staff were reasonably helpful and the food was pretty good. If you just want a cup of tea/coffee this is a great place to go but if you want something with a bit more character I would suggest one of the smaller tea shops.

This is really the best tea-room in Bruges and regrettably we only found it on our last day! It is quite grand inside, all painted in white and with a slightly vintage/Georgian feel to it. It is very stylish and clean and the food is first class, but at a very reasonable price. We had a delicious thin cinnamon apple... More

Great waffle, not so great service. Feels a bit touristy, and the staff acts that way (meaning as they'll never see you again). Coffee was ok, not great. No soy milk. Strawberries on waffle were great and very fresh. Place was crowded, so obviously popular. Atmosphere just ok, nothing special.

My wife and I have eaten breakfast here on each of our 4 visits to bruges . The cafe is very clean with a very relaxed atmosphere . The food is simple but well prepared and delicious . Many locals use this cafe which we take as a good sign . The owner recognised us on our recent visit and... More

We went here for lunch and enjoyed what we had. There was a slight language problem as they misunderstood our omelette order but if was very nice in general and the staff seemed very pleasant. I found it quite pricey for what we had, but then that is Bruges!
