Incredibly slow service here despite an almost empty restaurant. The starter was pretty to look at, but insubstantial and not particularly tasty. The little loaves of bread were a nice touch in their baking tins, but were very necessary as we might have had to go elsewhere for sustenance later. The main course was disappointing and not in any way... More

I didnt know of this restaurant and read comments on this site. Reviews sounded convincing enough for me to try this restaurant. I can tell that all positive comments found here are true! I cant find any negative point, really. We were in company of eight, and all of us shared same experience. I believe this restaurant will some day... More

If you want to spend a typical flemish high cuisine, this is a very good place to be. Don't be surprised to be served a 7 course meal of small and excellent selections with delicious sorbets and fine fruit ice creams in between. The environment is quite unique with the old custom way of service.

My wife and I dined at Karel De Stoute in December based on reviews here at TA. We were following an experiment to see if highly regarded places like this one were measurably better than say places that did not have as many reviews. Look at my other review in Ghent for the other place we dined. But on to... More

We come here twice a year, and every time, they just seem to surprise us with new things and excellent food. The cook really knows what he is doing, we expect a michelin star soon. Service is very good and very friendly, superb location! If there is something in the menu you don't like, a good alternative is never a... More

When we got there we thought that we might be the only customers but the place, somewhat hidden away, was soon close to full. Unlike another reviewer, we didn't find it too noisy, and the outside courtyard tables are probably lovely in the summer We had the 5 course taster menu with wine - I think 58 Euros and wine... More

This was one of five restaurants we visited in T'Patershol during a trip to Gent and it was easily the best. We found it by accident - it doesn't shout its presence- and the entrance is modest. The small dining room is, however, beautifully appointed, cosy and friendly. Service was excellent, attentive and efficient. Prices on the wine list were... More

we visit this restaurant in may 2010 and for us it was a very nice surpise ... excellent food and the desserts were very good and a we received a lot of surprises (like extra dessert and extra drink at the end) . The menu was 50 eur and 70 eur with wines. This is one of the best restaurants... More

This small restaurant has a chef who shows a lot of promise. His wife is a promising maitre d'. The ingredients were fresh and of a good quality. The fish was slightly overdone but that's a minor remark. We also had a really palatable Italian red wine. The only essential critic is one that can't be helped but was really... More
