Little, cosy reastaurant in the heart of the historical centre of Ghent. Very good quality of the food at a democratic price.

Had a great meal. We opted for the five course set menu with wine and were delighted. The wine was plentiful and good and we could not fault the meal service or atmosphere

We had the set 5 course menu at €35 per head Not the cheapest but for the quality of the meal we had it was very good value The restaurant is quite small and a few local couple came in Got to be a good sign Not somewhere I'd go every night but somewhere Iwouldn't hesitate to return to or...

Very friendly welcome by the lady of the house. We enjoied the Valentins Menu. Quality of food and presentation were perfect. Especially the codfish was very nice. We choose the for the wineforfait (white chardonney and red chateauneuf du pape). These wines were worth the money. When we were enjoing our meal, visually handicapped clients entered the restaurant. We really...

I am reluctant to write a glowing review since the more people who hear about Restaurant Valentjin, the less chance I'll get a reservation!
Having eaten there once before we travelled from London to Ghent for a one night stay solely to have dinner at Valentjin. The menu is innovative, the food (especially the trio of desserts) is to die...

Small restaurant located close to canal. Pleasant decor and valentine theme - good for couples.Staff very friendly with good english.
Set menu was 4 courses with choices for each course, with coffee and wine for 53 euros plus apertif and amuse-bouche. The service wasn't fast, but we preferred that.
All of the food was well prepared. We had venison as...

Went to Valentijn after reading the very promising reviews on Tripadvisor.
The restaurant is quite small and has quiet and intimate atmosphere. We were with a group of 5, not the ideal set for a place that - in accordance to its name - is more appropriate for couples.
We started the night on a bad note. As we were...

If this is the Second best in Ghent the first must be something extra special. My partner and I went on Saturday night and the food was to die for and was probably the best i have ever had in any restaurant anywhere. we had the fixed price menu and the Carpaccio of Beef was melt in mouth and full...

We scoped out this tiny cafe during one of our walks near the castle in Ghent. The menu contains selections not found in most restaurants. We were amazed by our rabbit pate and venison courses. The desserts were most impressive, showing true culinary creativity and magical layering of tastes and textures. Service (as in every other restaurant we visited in...

We had a great time at the Valentijn. The food is mid-range and priced accordingly. We ate in the room upstairs: cosy and atmospheric. Mostly tourists and one or two local families. We went for the wine included option (red and white), which turned out to be unlimited top-ups! We would recommend.
