We have been big fans of the spalenstubli. Great thai food, lots of fresh herbs and spices, friendly service, a nice atmosphere. Lately everything has been very dissapointing. Minuscule portions, terrible service.

Except for the papaya salad, the food was less than mediocre, rather greasy and very "switzernized". The prices are high even by Swiss standards.

Food was AMAZING - love this place - its cosy and has outdoor seating. Service is horrible but worth it. Food is so tasty and for Basel is reasonable size fo rthe price - 4 spring rolls for 8.50 CHF. Service is slow and a little confused it seems - but if you have the time its well worth it

Definitively the best thai food in basel. The dishes really stand out through their freshness and great fresh herbs. The meat salads are delicious, same for the curries. A bit pricey as compared other thais around but realy great value. Simple choice od cheap menus for lunch. The place is a little bit hidden, close to the brausebad tram station.
