As other reviewers say, it's the ultimate tourist trap. You can do soooo much better for your money only a few blocks away. We actually thought we had walked far enough away from "the square" area. Even if price is no object, go spend your money at an elegant place at one of the fine dining spots - don't give... More

I would not recommend eating in the area close to St Mark’s Square but after a visit to San Zaccaria and heading back to the square to watch the water rise, we chanced upon La Gondola restaurant in the narrow alley of Calle delle Rasse on the edge of Castello. The fixed price menu caught my eye. Quickly seated –... More

We were on the lookout for a place to eat a Pizza (at a reasonable Venice price) for lunch while in Venice. Randomly we chose a restaurant that had reasonable prices but we were told that they were full. On our way out the waiter suggested that we go to the restaurant on the opposite side of the road. As... More

Really liked the menu. . . exquisite cuisine! Fantastic place! The platter served was just enough; the right price for food quantity and quality of service. It was a good gourmet experience!

so pretty special on the grand scale of things! Mussels, calamari fritti, spaghetti pescatore, a nice liter each of house red wine, and acqua naturals. A very nice meal. Thanks!

Well as other reviewers has stated, over priced and a tourist "trap", no surprise caught on the first night as many others by the "FM" Fish charged by the weight - opps there gos at least 50 Euros. Salads - a bowl on dry lettuce, a couple of slices of tomatoes, and cucumber then piled high with grated carrott. But... More

Like many other tourists, I was lured into this restaurant by the display of fresh fish outside. I was greeted by the fat man (as others refer to him as) who seemed very charming and led us inside to a table for 2. The decor is not candle-lit and romantic, it has a more modern and relaxed vibe with bench-like... More

Second day in Venice and walked into this restaurant by mistake. Was very hungry and went into this random restaurant. The ones recommended by tripadvisor nearby was closed. Food was overall good and service was ok but the price was ridiculous. Portion was small compared to the rest of the restaurants in Italy, 5th day in Italy. Had two glasses... More

Tired after visiting San Marco Place and shopping we choose a restaurant with fresh fish and sea food displayed in the street window and appetizing! We discovered why Thomas Mann said "..Venice.. half fairy tale and half tourist trap". Inside, despite of the fact that the restaurant was half empty, the waiter offered us a table so small, that only... More

I read the reviews about this place while we were waiting for our food after we ordered. It's not as bad as everyone says. They caught our eye with the fresh fish displayed in the window. We met the owner (aka Fat Man as others called him in their reviews- Kinda harsh) and he offered us the 15% discount everyone... More
