A small restaurant serving typical Italian, non touristic food in a nice environment with a very friendly staff.
The restaurant was amazing!!!! We had the pork cheeks and polenta and the gnocchi!!!! Delicious!! The house red we had was very good and our waiter Max was so helpful and pleasant!!!! I own a restaurant in the states and I will admit I am hard to please but this place deserves 5 stars. MAKE RESERVATIONS
'NO FISH' says the tongue-in-cheek warning on their cute menu, illuminated by a lamp in their window. Friendly, fun service. Meat dishes (check about availability before getting your hopes up eg. lamb), great wine and a nice garden for use during nice weather. Tightly-packed tables mean that this is not a place for the claustrophobic. It makes a fine splurge... More
The bible for eating and drinking in Venice is Michela Scibilia's red book, "Venezia Osterie e Dintorni" ("A Guide to the Eateries of Venice"/ newest edition: November 2013) and LA BITTA is one of her favorites. Rightfull so. A perfect combination for a dinner with friends: a small restaurant, a happy staff and excellent food. (WARNING: Meat only BUT: Prepared... More
We enjoyed the tagliateli with pork and the large pork rib (chop). House wine is reasonably priced. Although it was a cool evening, we found it a bit warm in the restaurant - it could use some ventilation. For dessert, the Grom gelateria is just a few doors away and serves some of the best gelato in Venice.
Excellent little restaurant down the street from our hotel. I'd advise to keep expectations in check - simple, well prepared food is what you should expect and what you get. Nothing fancy but you come out feeling good - hard to do in Venice. My pear, radicchio & cheese salad hit every note - fresh & high quality ingredients in... More
We went to La Bitta on the recommendation of the owners of the B&B we were staying at as we are not big seafood lovers. The place is very small but the atmosphere is great. The service is fantastic with the waiters happy to explain the dishes to you. We tried the pear, cheese and walnut salad plus the tagliatelle... More

This restaurant serves meat while many restaurants in town serve seafood. My husband and I shared a delicious salad, got half portions of the 1st course (bean and barely soup and gnocchi with bacon and zucchini) and each had a second course. My husband said that the gnocchi was the best he had ever had! My veal morsels with peppers... More
The atmosphere was the first striking thing about the place: it was jolly and people were having fun, the staff are friendly and cheerful, despite clearly working extremely hard. Then the "no fish": a bit of a shock in Venice (or a relief depending on how long you've been eating out here), and their short menu changes daily I think,... More
