Book ahead this place is very popular - the food and wine is great - the staff all speak english and will recommend wine from the region if you ask. We started with a platter of cold meats which were superb and then followed this with some great homemade pasta and dessert. Would highly recommend.

Reasonable food. More like an English pub than Italian restaurant. Predominantly English customers. I would have preferred something more authentic and local. Food reasonable for the price but a bit on the heavy side with too much cheese.

We visited this restaurant the first night of our stay in Stresa largely because it was very late and close to our hotel. The food was great, home cooked and very tasty. We tried to go again on our last night but it was fully booked. Would definitely go again

had lunch here last week- the homemade pork sausage was absolutely delicious. it came with beans- which were not as good. it the sausage was ground pretty fine, spices were added and then made into patties and grilled. great flavor.

The food was nice, as expected according to the reviews. The place is very small and cozy, so you will be able to sit in the family-running (I believe) trattoria.

We discovered La Botte years ago, and it is our first dining spot each time we return. Sometimes lunch & dinner. The lamb is amazing. And we get to watch it all thru the glass into the kitchen. The house wine is great. BUT, do make reservations. La Botte is NOT a secret.
