Convenient location, but the gelato flavors are sugar bombs tricked out with tons of other stuff--kids will probably love it. The quality isn't bad, but there is better gelato nearby.

The best in city center and we tried a few. We had never had gelato until coming to Italy so as newbies we treated ourselves each afternoon of a six day stay. This was the best - smooth, true flavors and silky texture. It was a little hard to find, but worth it!

The cherry in vanilla cream was divine. The lemon was refreshing. The service was great. The place was clean. And finally the portions were HUGE!

A nice little place with a seated area at the back to eat and even a bar for drinks. A wide range of flavors and a good place to end an evening after a meal.

Gelateria Gianni had a great selection to choose from. Went with kids and everyone got large portions. They even had options with an olive oil mix. Love the strattachitella and dark chocolate mix.

Ice cream is good,not very good,but good.But the girl who sale the ice cream is a little bit angry.and it was not only once,but three times i was there in thre different days in two weeks she was angry and gave a bad service.I will come back there only when i will see someone else by the ice cream...

Gianni is a great start for your Bologna gelati experiences but with a little effort i.e. 5 minutes walk you have 2-3 others (Funivia, Grom & Castiglione) that are better... but i say try them all!

Went today to this location near our BnB. Great flag ours, fresh and, in the scheme of things, reasonably priced. When you need a sweet fix, this is the place. Recommended.
