My friend and I stayed in an apartment very close to this restaurant and on our second night in Rome we thought we'd try this cozy looking restaurant. We arrived there around 9.30 pm and took a look both inside and outside and the place was almost empty. We decided we wanted to sit outside since the temperature was very... More

We searched for a great place for Pesto, a couple of nights after having a fabulous pesto in a random find in Siena during the pouring rain, so we searched Trip Advisor and found this place. Bonus it was only a 500 meter walk from our room just down from Piazza Novana. In summary, it was a very nice dress-up... More

I ate at Taverna Giulia my first night in Rome, after an exhausting ten hour train ride on three different trains. My meal was just as delicious and comforting as I hoped it would be. A tasty bottle of red wine was only 12 euros, and everyone in my group ordered some kind of gnocchi. As a result, I sampled... More

I first visited Taverna Giulia almost 30 years ago, just out of college, and remember being wowed by its authentic pesto (turning me into a lifelong fan of the food, which for non-initiates is a Genovese, tastebud-stimuating mix of ground basil, parsley, pine nuts, garlic and olive oil - usually with parmesan or pecorino cheese blended in). I returned last... More

The food and service here were excellent. In fact, it is some of the best service I have seen in Rome. The ambience is also a bit more formal than the typical Roman restaurant. I had the veal in cream sauce, which was simply amazing. The Italians do the most extraordinary things with veal! It is rather pricy, but excellent... More

A good and truly genuine adress. Foreign languages are not on the menu which makes the experience more genuine. (although the menu is made up in French, english and German) The food quality as well as the service is good. I will definetly go back this place!

This wonderful restaurant never disappoints. It's very pretty and serves excellent food from the Genovese. The waiters are helpful, patient and allow you to feel very special without being overbearing. The most special thing on the menu is their pesto, always delicious, but try the ravioli with a sauce made of walnuts for another northern Italian specialty that is absolutely... More

If your looking for a place not to far off the beaten path to relax after walking miles in Rome this is one we especially enjoyed. We found it by chance for a late lunch. Owned and operated by a Father Son team, it offered great local fare at a reasonable price. The Son, Fabio, who served us was especially... More

Excellent food, very friendly owner. It was a pitty the night we were there, (around 9pm) the restaurant was completely empty with few tables occupied outside. Delicious food and good wine list..
