Description: In a picturesque setting on a quiet rural lane, British Larder offers traditional British cuisine with a contemporary edge, and a passion for sourcing superb produce from the Suffolk region. There is outside seating for al fresco dining. Rustic yet modern, the cosy interior at The British Larder restaurant in Suffolk features exposed brickwork, an open fire, wooden beams and an impressive bar. The seasonal British Larder menu uses locally sourced produce wherever possible, and changes on a daily basis, making best use of the fine, fresh ingredients. Sample dishes include sea bass carpaccio with coriander, lime and fennel salad, Orford-Ness lobster and Loch Duart salmon macaroni or Riverside beef with Aspall Cyder roasted shallots, Yorkshire pudding and duck fat roasted potatoes. There is a good selection of wines by the glass and an indulgent dessert menu. Near Woodbridge, The British Larder Suffolk is a fine gastro pub, open 7 days a week.

The British larder is the kind of place that loves its ingredients fresh and in season. It is this that makes it the real deal. Even so in the hands of another chef these lovely seasonal flavours could be ruined and verge into an average experience. On our previous visit I was wowed by these superb virtues and the sound... We have eaten here several times in the past 2 years. We have always been pleased, but the last year has been dramatically better. I suspect the bad reviews are from when it started. Definitely worth a visit now!! We have always found the service good, better if Madeleine is there. We were disappointed the last time that it was... More

Six of ate at the restaurant on a Tuesday night and as we had a dog with us were seated in the bar. It was very quiet evening, but we had a super meal that was beautifully presented and cooked. Portion size was right for all of us - not large but with a starter we still managed to share... More

From their website I discovered that they do a set price lunch, and the sample menu (it was different on the day) looked interesting. There are only 2 choices per course, so if you are a bit selective in the dishes you like, and want a value lunch, then suggest you ring through to check. We aren't, so had one... More

Just chanced on this place and were very glad we did. Four of us lunched very well with two beers and three glasses of wine all for less than 65 of our good old British quids! A nice experience - if we get hopelessly lost in the wilds of Suffolk again we would definitely go back!

We visited the restaurant on Sunday after meaning to go there for quite some time. I cannot fault the food at all, it was excellent and much larger portions than you would expect. Some equally good restaurants offer a better set price for Sunday lunch, but I didn't mind the cost as the quality was so good. The only thing... More

The food was excellent and interesting. Not inexpensive - dinner and drinks for 5 circa Pds 200. Staff were good and we were persuaded to come back for dinner having just called in for a drink on the way to collect family.

This is our 3rd visit to the British Larder, we visited a couple of months ago on a Sunday for a birthday celebration, we enjoyed every course, especially roast beef which melts in mouth and puddings were delicious too, tricle tart, pannacotta all fantastic! Prices a little bit steep but well worth it! Keep up with good work BL!!

We had the most wonderful evening at this Restaurant and it is well worth a visit. The food is local, beautifully cooked and equally beautifully presented. The staff were attentive without being overwhelming and had a great knowledge of the food and wines they were presenting. Whilst it was not the cheapest of meals every mouthful was worth it and...
