Best dinner experience we had in Barcelona. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They spoke perfect English which is not that common in Spain. My wife had an excellent salmon with pumpkin and rhubarb sauce, which she loved even though she is no salmon enthusiast. I had a very good duck. The starters were also very tasty. The atmosphere... It's always a challenge finding a place that's "not touristy" in cities such as Barcelona, Rome or Paris. Romero is a notable exception and a local gem that's obviously gaining acclaim through Trip Advisor. It's always bodes well when the head chef is also the owner. Great service, meals well presented and cooked to perfection and constant verification on meal... More

Cannot but recommend Romero after having been there with my family. All four of us loved all our food, drinks and desserts and service. All dishes were cooked and served to perfection, honouring mediterranean simplicity yet with a very refined taste, product of a skilful balance of flavours. If you are looking for good mediterranean culinary experience, Romero is the... More

We visited Romero for dinner after reading all of the fine reviews. We weren't expecting so much, and in fact we hoping to find a real gem. This is a small place tucked away on a quiet street, with a very nice "feel" to it (charming antique interior, etc). We started with the "barbecued" vegetable plate and a green salad.... More

Lovely neighborhood bistro, good food, very pleasant and not at all pricey! Would definitely recommend for a quiet, tasty and good value dinner.

We went here on the strength of other reviews and were very pleased with it. We made a reservation on their website with24 hours noticed and they replied promptly and in English to confirm. We had a friendly welcome and our waiter explained the menu . The menu is not extensive but had some lovely dishes. Portions were not huge... More

As you know, most Barcelona restaurants don't open for dinner until 8pm or 8:30pm. We called for an 8:30 reservation and were told to be sure to arrive on time, because if we arrived 15 minutes late our table would be given away. We arrived at 8:30 and were the only customers in the place until almost 9:30! Strange. In... More

We've certainly been eating well during our 4-day stay in Barcelona, but Romero was definitely tops. The lamb was delectable, and the sirloin even better. Both were cooked to perfection, and everything looked almost too beautiful to eat. We shared the superb apple crumble, while also eying the chocolate truffles at the next table. After a flawless meal, we immediately... More

We celebrated my girlfriends 30ths Birthday at Romero's and didn't regret our choice. The Food&Wine was just delicious! We had some carpaccio first, which was outstanding. Of course spanish Iberia pork. As main course we had salmon and Lamb shank, both dishes excellent prepared in taste and for "the eye". The Highlight of the evening was, of course, the dessert.... I visited this restaurant in October 2012 with a group of friends (6 in total). We were greeted by their host, who showed us to the table we requested on our online booking (quiet, in the corner, comfortable for a lovely evening among friends). They have five-star dishes prepared exquisitely by their Venezuelan chef and patron, who came out to... More
