We were fortunate to visit this restaurant for Sunday Lunch and it is faultless with imaginative food, superb service. They offer a sherry aperitif followed by a wide selection of bread, probably 4 different types. The white bread cooked on the premises comes with 5 different types of olive oil and to be honest we could not notice the difference.... More

Best in a town with lots to offer--don't be put off by the location in a small shopping center behind the market. Nice combination of creative dishes and local ingredients

We opted for the tasting menu of 7 courses and it was almost too much food. They also do a four course menu which may be a better option for those with smaller appetite. Free aperitif drinks were offered which were a range of sherries. To start they brought an amuse bouche which was a leek soup with ravioli. The... More

Stayed overnight in Santander as we were catching the morning ferry. What a meal! The restaurant is worth more than a detour, it is a major reason for visiting the area. The 7 or was it 8 course meal with wine is exceptional value, it was also wondrous, we spent more eating on the ferry the following night! The atmosphere... More

Excellent in every way, Agree with all previous posts except the one saying they needed to lighten up. We found the MD very attentive and serious about the food and wine, but one should not forget that even when a person speaks good English it doesn't mean they will understand the odd quip or badinage with the customer. Despite the... More

This restaurant richly deserves it's No 1 place on TripAdvisor. As a birthday treat we went for the Special Menu. It was all just fantastic. 8 courses and 3 hours later we left to catch our ferry very satisfied indeed. Its expensive but good value for money. Will go again but might have to wait for another birthday.

After the initial shock of the location of El Serbal (although only a minute walk from busy streets of Santander) was surprised by how good this place was. We were given English menus and a complimentary sherry to get us started. Good menu choice, the sharing option on starters and desserts is ideal and they take this into account in... More

It was our anniversary and we wanted to go somewhere special and this place certainly was....When we arrived we were a little surprised at the location as it looked very unimpresive from the outside. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table, all the staff were very softly spoken and did their best to bridge the language barrier. We... More

For 58euro per head, and a very reasonable and varied wine list, this a great value restaurant. We really enjoyed our night here - service was impeccable, and while we had very little Spanish, all the staff did their best to communicate in English. I loved the olive oil menu - and the dry ice on our ice cream dessert... More

This restaurant was recommended by a colleague who is from Santander. Before going I checked out the reviews on here and could only see one bad one. I booked on line the day before which is unusual for a Michelin star restaurant. I added comments that my wife is vegetarian so could we have some options please. The booking clearly... More
