This is not a restaurant but a shop selling Andalusian specialties, but also doing tasting evenings for a limited amount of people on certain evenings where i is essential to make a reservation and the hole thing kicks off at 7 PM - in the shop. The owner is passionate and is commenting on the wines and foods throughout the... More

Went to La Oliva with 2 friends for a birthday meal. We all loved the food and the concept of being told about the food we were eating. Also a big thank you to Francesco for making me fishy alternatives to the meat tapas. All were very delicious. Highly recommended.

Francisco the owner (for the Brits, think a delightful silvery Spanish version of Bernard Cribbins in a pristine canvas apron) serves up delicious morsels of the produce on offer from his well-stocked delicatessen. The food isn't fancy, but the passion and quality involved in its production and service is outstanding. Dishes change according to season, but our treats included scrambled... More

Our chef, Francisco, owns La Oliva in Granada – a small shop that offers sherry, olive oil and other Spanish delectables. We booked one of his evening "tasting" sessions and were delighted with everything he served: sherry, wines, cold cuts, gazpacho, swordfish sampler. Along with each sampler, he offered insights on what the average Spaniard eats, how they eat it,... More

It is the sum of the parts that make La Oliva stand out. It's not the best food, it's not the best wine, it's not the most confortable seating...and somehow you end up having one of the most enjoyable meals ever... Mr Francisco does what he does from the heart and it shows. All I can say is that te... More

Despite Francisco's portestations that La Oliva is a shop, spending an evening in his company sampling his tasting menu was the highlight of our week in Andalucia. With knowledge and enthusiasm he introduced us to regional specialities, allowing us to compare and contrast different ingredients, matching them with appropriate wines and sherries in a three hour gastronomic adventure. Needless to... More

This tasting will take you trough some honest made Spanish quality food. The story told in English makes this a complete experience, that will be hard to forget. For instance you start with 3 olive oils. The difference tastewise is huge. The tasting will show the quality of the food and it will be presented with superb stories. To quote... More

After reading the reviews I had an idea of what to expect, but this exceeded our expectations. On the evening we dined here there were only three other people. It was an intimate experience and so much fun. The food was simple, but all fresh and local. From the olive oil tasting through the nougat for dessert we enjoyed every... More

Visited here a couple of days ago. We had asked our hotel to book this for us as others have mentioned you need to book well in advance. When we turned up just before 7, Francisco, the owner of the deli/restaurant, told us that the evening was rather unusual, in that a table of 4 had cancelled at short notice,... More

Seduced by fantastic Tripadvisor reviews, we went straight to La Oliva the morning of our first day in Granada to see if it was possible to reserve a table sometime during our weekend stay. A very friendly Francisco met us in his shop (it's not a restaurant, but a small food store), and was sorry to inform us that the... More
