This is one of those traditional places that the locals still go to. We had a few tapas which were pretty good. Service was a bit slow, but not enough to warrant a real complaint.

Yum yum yum.. don't leave Granada without trying sangria in Antigua Bodega Castaneda. I also recommend tomato salad with goat cheese.
I think a lot of folks are confusing this restaurant and Bodegas Castaneda and visa versa (even Rick Steve's guide book lists the other restaurant but puts this one on his map.) My husband and I had a great dinner here (jamon platter, croquettas), our waiter was very friendly (probably helps that I speak Spanish.) We sat outside in the...

We enjoyed our first visit here so much that we returned for a second meal the next day. We wanted to try what we had seen many other people eating, the Rabo de Toro and we were not disappointed, it was delicious! We were also pleasantly surprised by the complimentary sherry served at the end of the meal.
Where to start: the service was unacceptable for any country or by any standard
The waiters were rude, not just unfriendly, and slow
The food arrived looking like it's been in their fridge for 3 days & has been reheated to death
The cherry on top was that my Papa Iberica (jacket potato with a couple of olives & a...

We got confused and went there instead of next do Bodegas Castañeda - what a misery! An overpriced menu, canned/low quality ingredients that are so wrong in a country where delicious ham should be cut on the bone and not taken out of a supermarket plastic pack! The same applied for every single element we ordered. Avoid at all cost....

Just steps from Plaza Nueva, this is a wonderful find. The waiter was very patient in helping me chose several regional dishes. There was also a wonderful local wine at a good price. If you can, go with others, order several things, and share.
We had a wonderful experience at Antigua Bodega Castaneda in Granada. We ate lunch around 2 PM and had the place almost to ourselves. Everything was great. Helpful waiter. Good tapas, beer and wine. Very nice atmosphere.
It's much nicer than most of the tapas bars we saw while in Spain for four weeks. It looks like they care about...

We came here for dinner on our first night in Granada as it was recommended by lots of guide books. We are tourists after all so even if we wanted to "eat where the locals eat" how were we to know where those places are exactly?
The service was good and efficient. The waiters got us a table inside almost...

We went to this restaurant for lunch after visiting The Alhambra. Nearly every review that we had read said that this place had wonderful food and the service was amazing. We found the opposite. We sat in the alley between Antigua Bodega Castañeda and another restaurant. We noticed that everyone at the restaurant had tour books and were from other...
