Certainly an authentic place without a lot of pretentious but serving great food. If you expect a haut’ cuisine this is not the place for you. If you want to have a fresh and tasty fish and tapas in an outdoor casual table than this is right for you. A special treat is the mackerel on the barbecue. Not to... More

Don’t expect a fancy restaurant or taberna, but if you want to experience the typical Cadiz food, this is your place. The Taberna Tio de la Tiza is not even a tavern. Seats are all of them in a terrace… well, not exactly… in a terrace formed by the confluence of several streets that form a square (Tio de la... More

This was a great find, thanks to going with a friend who went to school with the chef! We ate one September evening like the locals do - our friend ordering the best of everything. Shark, sole, boquerones en vinagre, mejillones and the local salted dried tuna. Five main dishes, three bottles of wine - 65 Euros! Excellent food, excellent... More

We ate lunch here and it was delicious. The place wasn't the easiest to find, but the good places never are. It was fairly full despite being a Monday in September. We ordered the tortillita de camerones an they were amazing as was everything else we got. Good seafood at good prices. We had a lot of foo and drinks... More

Not sure we could find it again but will definitely try. We wandered in on our way back from the beach. Only two tables were taken and 20 minutes later there were people waiting all over. The waiters were great. Really fun atmosphere and delicious food

We got a taxi to this restaurant having seen it recommended on tripadvisor. Pleased we did as it was away from the tourist area in a lovely little square. Very welcoming staff, fresh fish and reasonably priced.

What a great place in a lovely little old square - tables outside on the square, completely unpretentious and very good value. Superb very fresh fish, simply cooked, and a great welcome from all the staff. 2 starters and 2 mains and a bottle of wine came to 38 euros - and it was our best meal in Spain. We... More

The Taberna came recommended from two Spanish friends who spent a couple of summers teaching in Cádiz. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there two days in a row. All of the seating is outdoors so be sure to grab a table in the shade if it's the summer (I have no idea what they do in bad... More
