The food is awesome! So much so that if I don't get a chance to go for a while I dream about it. I love that they cook the curry with spisiness to order, so if you can't handle spicy or if you're a nuclear maniac, this place will suit. The curries are excellent. The Chai is great. The soups... I'm particularly fond of curry, but my picky eater Hubby recommended we go together and have me try their food. Well, everything was great. The ice tea is addicting good! The family owners are super attentive. Good portion, presentation an taste was exceptional. We had chips and tomato soup as starter (excellent), chicken curry (non-spicy, I can't tolate spiy food)... Just ate there last night for the first time based on the reviews. The atmosphere/decoration is great. The place is a bit hard to find on a GPS, and parking sucks. You have to make a reservation. The food I ordered was delicious, and one of the other ladies I was with thought so of her meal. Another person in... More

Being English, I'm always on the lookout for an Indian, and whilst it says Himalaya, it's close enough. Friendly staff, the restaurant is nicely done in a Himalayan style and the food doesn't disappoint! We were the only people in the restaurant, so don't know how it is when it's full, but we enjoyed ourselves. Would go there again, definitely.

This is a great restaurant in the Altstadt of Kaiserslautern. My wife and I just ate here for the first time and we loved the atmosphere and food. We sat at a table near the back of the restaurant with a in front of a mural of the Himalyan mountains and a photo of a younger Dalai Lama smiling down... More

I was invited to eat here by a friend...not a big fan of this type of food. However, the staff was nice and attentive...food came out in short order and other seemed to enjoy their food. Just not going to rate higher based on personal pref of food. Otherwise nothing negative to say about the establishment.

Care is put into every dish here! So be patient if your food takes a few minutes o come out. They also have dollar for euro Thursdays and a great lunch menu! I have a friend that works for the German health department and apparently this place has one of the cleanest kitchens he has seen!!! Worth the wait!!!

THIS is a place I would return to repeatedly! Fantastic variety, great atmosphere, super location. Authentic spices, FRESH prepared dishes of Nepalese orign. Servings were perfect sized. PERFECT dining for the Vegetarian as there are many dishes which are free of meat products, milk/dairy or eggs. It is a place that once you walk in the door, you can taste... More

We have been to the Himalaya several times in the 3 years we have lived in Germany and absolutely love this restaurant! The menu has a wide variety of meals, but my favorites are as follows: Garlic Chicken, Banana Chicken, and Pumpkin Chicken dishes. These are not the names on the menu, but the menu is in English. The service... More

We have been wanting to go here since we arrived in Germany last July. We were intrigued by the chance to dine at an ethnic restaurant offering the cusine from the top of the world. The menu was chock full of many types of dishes. There was lots to choose from. We were expecting mainly vegetarian dishes but were pleasantly... More
