Mederrano is hidden on a small street, one block south of the Heumarkt tram stop. It's inside the ruins of a Roman-era villa, but with modern buildings atop that hide the history. Too bad it's a short walk outside the tourist area of Cologne. The restaurant itself is quite lovely with very good food from German and Italian cuisines. Service... More

The restaurant was listed in the Insomnia brochure which reviews restaurants and other sites in Cologne. Their write up sounded good so went. Had an amazing fresh fish meal, great wine and dinner for two with starters, main and desert with two 1/2 litres of local wine was under 100 Euro. Great castle like ambiance with superb service.

It's a hidden treasure, and very much worth searching for. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, based in the old wine cellar of an aristocratic house with beautiful vaulting. The food was excellent, the most tender beef filet I had in 10 days in Cologne and so much nicer than all the touristic places in the Altstad. The waiter is very... More

Visited this place for a lovely meal during February 2012, the interior was very cool with some very nice paintings on the walls. The waiters were very friendly and attentive, even if their English wasn't the best, and the food came out very quickly and tasted beautiful. Had the crème brûlée for desert Our only complaint would be that it... More

knowing that it was NYE we knew that the menu would be downsized, but there still was enough dishes to choose. appetizer: the prawns, main course: salmon with spinach and pasta in proseco sauce, desert: tiramuso, my boyfriend got the mouse au chocolat. I've posted pictured of the deserts. the waiters were very fast. we had a wonderful time here.

2 clients a colleague and I had dinner here before Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed it. 2 of us had steak while 2 had fish all washed down with local beer and red burgundy. It was the client's choice and the bill came to approx. €75 per head, so reasonable value with the wine.

Saw a couple of reviews on here and wanted somewhere good. We were not disappointed. Not cheap but great food and friendly attentive service in a restaurant with a good atmosphere. We had tapas and garlic prawns to start, then. Veal and fillet steak in Gorgonzola. The dishes were excellent. Desert was apple strudel, but ironically this was the worst... More

We first didn't find it because the sign is confusingly above a flower shop ... the building is behind the flower shop. The food was excellently cooked - we had Tapas and Bruschette for starters, and then meet dishes where it really matters if the cook knows what he's doing: Some had liver, some saltinbocca. Both were excellent, tender, well... More

When everything is perfect few words need to be written. Beautiful interior, friendly staff, amazing food, reasonably priced. Cannot wait to go back and try more things from the menu.
