Actually the food in this place is an average German and the place itself is nicely decorated (if you like German style). The herring plate (=maties) was very tasty. We have been staying just around the corner so decided to call in for dinner. Great German food and the price was superb. Two mains and four different beers for on 35 euros. The portions are generous. I would highly recommend the pork schnitzel with buttered peas and fried potatoes. Superb service in both English and German.

Massive portions, friendly service, excellent beers, good atmosphere. The food wasnt spot-on (my Berlin meatball main was a bit dry) but it wasnt far off - it was a lot better than some of the tourist traps we visited - the cooking felt more homely. Recommended.

Great value, good food, great service - nothing fancy but just what was needed after 12 hours travelling!
