This location is fantastic the history of the building is incredibly cool. The food and service however are sorely lacking. I ordered a baked potato with fresh veggies and cheese, this equated to over cooked baked potato frozen mixed veggies and greasy cheese. I was not happy. The waitress was incompetent and we almost walked out without paying as we... More

Went here during a short trip to Germany. The place is very hard to find tucked away at the bottom of the town hall behind large wooden doors and down some stairs that reveal nothing about the amazing surprise inside. It is an superb venue and was very busy even on a Monday night when I went. There is a... More

Almost all German cities and towns have a Rathaus, a town hall, and most of these turn their cellars and lower floors over to restaurants or wine bars. Here in Augsburg, they have a more modern version, with a more modern philosophy. Of course you can indulge in the local culinary specialities and the great wines and beers on offer,... More

First of all this place was coined the "rat house" by one of my coworkers parents because they couldn't pronounce Ratskeller. lol Arrived there for dinner on 1/21/13. We did not have reservations but we were lucky enough to get a table for 5. I noticed that a lot of their tables had already been reserved for larger groups so... More

My girlfriend and I chose to have dinner at this restaurant based on the great score it had - and we weren't disappointed! We are on a 6 week trip through Europe and we still talk about the dessert at this place almost every day. The food and beer is all very good, but the best reason to come here... More

This is a must stop, must eat, must experience restaurant during any visit to Augsburg. The architecture is breath taking and the modernization is impeccable. I enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere in this large, but small feeling space I couldn't not stop looking around and feeling the experince. The servers were friendly, the service up to meal delivery was good,... More

The ambiance is what makes this place cool. It is underground, dimly lit and good music playing. It's a bit noisy because of the echo in the room. Our waitress was kind and helpful with the menu. However, she forgot our appetizer. We also had to wait a very long time for the bill, after asking multiple waitresses.

I love that this place is in the cellar of the old city hall building (complete with vaulted ceilings). Good, authentic, and not too expensive food/beer in a fun atmosphere. I'd definitely go back with friends...

In the bowels of the old city hall, there is the Ratskeller restaurant. Typical German cuisine, but very tasty and very good quality. Service was impeccable and fast, even though we were there on a Satruday night. Prices are very good, 8-10 EUR for a normal meal, 12EUR for pricier fare, 15EUR for a steak. I recomment to everyone but... More
