If you want to know what typical lyonnaise is, go to Chez Georges. When we went for lunch we had the plat de jour and feasted on a salad, succulent veal casserole with vegetables, and baked apple with spiced ice cream for dessert. We sat at a long table with other diners ( all French) and it was easy to... More

My wife and I wanted to try the food in the restaurant Au Petit Bouchon Chez Georges that was at that time the second on the Tripadvisor list of restaurants in Lyon. We called the restaurant couple of days beforehand to make the reservation but could not book the table as people speak only French in the restaurant and clearly... More

The wellcome is very warm and friendly and both the cook and the waiter give you "ambiance". The food is traditional workers food, what implies that it is rather heavy stuff. Large portions. Try the quenelles. Don't go too often in a bouchon or your weight will explode.

Before we went to Lyon, we checked Trip advisor for restaurants to visit. This was on nr. 1 slot so we booked a reservation for lunchtime. The food was traditional Lyonnaise dishes which we were curious to try. However after tasting the food, it was not to our liking. I just had a little bit of my 2 dishes. I... More

My husband and I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Au Petit Bouchon Chez Georges. Only negative was my husband's onion soup was a little bit cold, but the presentation of a bottle of Madeira to add a bit of zing soon made up for that! Main courses were delightful. Hubby had lyonnaise sausage in Beaujolais - I must say... More

An enjoyable evening. Not much to add to the comments already made: the food is Lyonnais style, meaning there's lots of river fish and offal and a complete disregard for the fat content. The restaurant space is compact and pretty scruffy, and conversation with other diners is virtually compulsory. The service is friendly and fun. And the chef makes unbelievably... More

Even if my friend and I arrived late, one hour after our reservation (after calling of course), they hosted us at 9pm30 with a great smile. I tasted the wonderful "oeuf en meurette with Saint Marcellin"...Coming just to taste this meal is enough....extraordinary ! My friend chose "cochonnailles lyonnaise" ( product made from pork). the waiter brought different big family... More

Occupying a nice nice between restaurant and stand up comedy venue, we had a completely riotous meal which I can honestly say is different to anywhere I've been before. A bouchon is a traditional hostelry where everyone occupies communal tables and eats every single part of every single animal put in front of them. The waiter was hilarious (if your... More

Not to be confused with the more famous Brasserie Georges, Chez Georges is a small authentic traditional Lyonnaise Bouchon which exceeds all expectations. We got lost and arrived an hour late to find our table still waiting for us with smiling staff that had no words of complaint or reproach. Three staff members, tiny seating area, great atmosphere. They placed... More

Tel: 04.78.28.30.46. www.aupetitbouchonchezgeorges.fr. The restaurant was not far from the Place des Terreaux – on which the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the opera house were located. The front door was somewhat camouflaged so Au Petit Bouchon initially appeared to be the restaurant on the corner – it was not, as it was next door. There were 30 seats in a... More
