The meal started off really well, as we shared a mixed platter between the two of us. There was a deep fried cheese ball that was delicious. We had the main of canneloni, and also the main of lamb which came with two bits of lamb, potato gratin, and two bits of roasted eggplant. Dessert was a major let down.... More

We ate hear the night of the first round of French presidential elections and had the place almost to ourselves. The food was excellent and a good value with wine. Mamma came out of the kitchen to greet us. We would have gone back a second time in our brief stay in Avignon, but the restaurant was closed on that... More

This is a simple restaurant, so set your expectations right. I had the charcuterie for starter which was an excellent selection of Corsican cold cuts. The entree, leg of lamb with potato gratin and roasted eggplant, was OK but not breathtaking. Very cosy atmosphere, and while the lady who runs the place had virtually no English, she did her best... In view of the other comments I thought it worth mentioning our experience at dinner on April 12, 2012. The lady hostess could not have been more charming or helpful. When we struggled to communicate she went and fetched another lady from the kitchen, who had good English, to translate. They both went through the whole menu with us very... More

We had a very pleasant Sunday lunch with the Corsican touch. We took the menu with starter, main dish and dessert. The fish was fresh and simply prepared (filets de rougets sprinkled with nuts) and the "charcuterie Corse" delicious. The Mamma was attentive and very professional and we all liked the simple rustic ambiance.

Our experience of "service" at Mamma Corsica was appalling. I had made a reservation in advance and we were a bit late as we had trouble locating the restaurant. As soon as we arrived I apologised that we were late and explained we'd been lost. The woman serving (presumably Mamma herself) immediately began abusing us and said there was no... More

The lady who was waiting our table was the worst we have ever encountered. She lacked courtesy, and spent most of the time talking to the cook, instead of waiting on the tables. At the table next to me, her service was not any better. She gave the people such a hard time as if she was doing them a... More

When you step into Mamma Corsica you leave Avignon behind. Great atmosphere, good food and very personal service from Mamma Corsica herself! Books & games were provided for our 4 year old and nothing was too much trouble. It's a small restaurant so feels cosy & friendly. One to recommend if you want something a bit different an original.

food was excellent, but what I liked the most is that the lady running this restaurant was extremely nice to my kids, offering them games to play and advising us on the size of the dishes.

We live in France, and have suffered through many a 3-hour meal. We were not looking for an 'event' meal, just good food at a reasonable price. This restaurant is very small, very quaint, and the food is awesome. My daughter had a delicious salmon dish, I had goat cheese ravioli, my son and husband had grilled beef with pepper... More
