We hadn't booked and took the precaution of arriving early one Sunday lunch time. It soon filled up, mainly with locals, who were very genial. We chose a set menu of four courses which was too much. We couldn't make ourselves understood when we tried to opt out of the huge cheese board, I suspect they thought we might have... More

We came here based on the TripAdvisor reviews and we were completely sold. This is a small (seats about 40) casual very lovely restaurant just a couple of steps from the Aitre St-Maclou. In addition to an a la carte menu, they offer three complete meals which are truly a wonderful bargain. We were two, and we each had the... More

It was a quiet day in Rouen, season not quite in full swing yet. Most of the restaurants along this street had waiters hanging around giving you the 'please come in' look. And yet La Petite Auberge was packed! We went early, around 7:15pm as we didn't book, and was lucky to get one of two free table for the... More

La Petit Auberge in Rouen France. "Gem" in the middle of beautiful country side. I started with a seafood platter. What a treat, very fresh oysters, langustines, shrimp and sea snails. It was a huge portion and delicious in every bite. Freshness and sweetness the key. I then had a steak cooked to just the way I like, med rare.... More

Had an excelent meal at the Petite Auberge! We arrived early to get a table, around 12, otherwise it seems very hard to seat without a reservation! The food was trully delicious - the service is a bit slow, but since we were not in a rush, we just enjoyed the whole ritual of eating!

Previously I was wowed. This time with family less impressed by the food itself. The service, ambiance, presentation and overall feel are superb - love the fresh anemone de Caen flowers at every table. The place was full within 40 mins of opening - so book early if you wish to dine! and you should. Dropped a star because although... More

Lived in Rouen for a year and only discovered this place at the very end. Simply amazing, deserves the top spot. Fresh, tasty high quality food. Recommend booking before hand because this place is busy just about every night. Go there !

I live here and I've eaten at a good amount of restaurants in the last two years. La Petite Auberge ties with an Indian restaurant I enjoy, for the top spot of Best Restaurant in Rouen. The food was delicious (I ordered escargot à la basquaise, then a seafood plate chosen by the chef, and crème brûlée) and that of... More

Following a Trip Advisor recommendation we visited this petite restaurant while on a New Year cruise to Rouen. It is essential that you book as we did, and had the last table ! It was a truly wonderful experience. The decor is simple, the staff welcoming and the food is excellent. As professional foodies we cannot applaud this restaurant enough... More

Ate at this restraurant following recommendation from b&b owner. Saturday night 8pm thr place was full, so it was a good thing that we had booked. Service was attentive and atmosphere welcoming and relaxed.Foie gras starter was great, but the amount of garlic in the butter over the snails was overpowering for our taste.Steak and veal main courses were good....
