Went to this place because it was recommended in Frommer's but was disappointed with the food. Pro: Friendly service. Easy to find, central location across the road from the sea. Con: Food was very, very salty. Ordered a plate of tiny prawns and there was way too much salt. The mussels were way over cooked till it was dry. Feels... More

Trouville – Lunch at Les Vapeurs, located directly across the street from the Marche aux Poisson – we drove directly from CDG to this popular and casual local institution (since 1927). This, our first experience with Normandy’s unbelievably fresh seafood, made my wife very happy with terrific mussels and oysters. My sole, on a bed of spinach somewhat surprisingly surrounded... We were traveling together with my wife through Normandy. Despite rainy weather and large crowd we were seated very quickly. The tables are located very closely to one another and you are seating closely to other tables but that does not spoil the atmosphere. The oysters (les huitre) and the mussels with normandy cream sauce (les moules) were great. The... More

This is where us locals go when we are trying to impress each other. More crowded than a turkish prison, but gives you the feeling of a bustling Parisien eatery just enough to remind you why Paris is such a nightmare. The survivor guilt is included in the bill.

We had a lot of fun! The presentation of food was very nice and the restaurant was a lot fun. I would go back for the atmosphere alone. We had sole, pan fried and it was perfectly cooked!

Return visit to Trouville and Les Vapeurs after 4 years..not disappointed. A barmy hot September Saturday night, right on the water front , opposite the fish market, extremely busy but that is how it always is here and it adds to the experience , if you want a table in prime position on the terrace, expect to wait unless you... We have been coming to les Vapeurs regularly (2-3 times a year) for the past 30 years, a period this Trouville brasserie has gotten ever more popular. But the place has been going downhill, perhaps because it has become a victim of its success. Although brasserie food is not usually haute cuisine, in this case the chance is that you... More

Good place to eat. Very busy in the season, especially at weekends when the Parisien crowds arrive. Seafood a speciality, which is not surprising as it is directly opposite the fish quay and market. Good atmosphere, friendly service. Food is average though the moules frites can be special.
