We picked Le Rapiere for my 40th birthday and could not have been happier with the choice. Great service and a fantastic menu combined with a lovely setting.
From the moment we got there, we knew this was a special place. Intimate and romantic - Where better to celebrate 25 years of marriage! The food and wine was perfect. I was daring and ordered the pork belly, which was excellent. Of course, we had to end the meal with local cheeses and port. This restaurant is highly rated... More

This was a recommendation of our super duper hotel. This was a small restaurant in a small, side street location. The intimate atmosphere was enhanced by the low ceilings, candlelight, and white tablecloths. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was absolutely marvelous. I do recall multiple options for a variety of palates. My husband and I agree that... More
I chose the 38.50 Euro menu, with the thought that it would give the chef a better opportunity to show their skills, and while I thought the food was good it failed to live up my expectations, it basically lacked that wow factor. The amuse-bouche consisting of 3 pieces was not a good start, considering it is a complimentary dish... More
We booked this restaurant using both TripAdvisor and Rick Steves' recommendations... and were not disappointed. I think this experience is best shared with at least four people, so you can properly pair white wines early, red wines later... but having said that the couples there were quite happy too. Our meal experience was about three hours... just a perfect pace... More
Booked ahead and pleased we did as the restaurant was full on this Thursday night. Had a table close to a warming fire and enjoyed a tasty cider based aperitif whilst choosing from the interesting menu. I had a wonderful seafood starter and my wife had 'the best foie gras for years' .And so it carried on through the 38... More
food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. staff was pleasant and on top of things. make this one of your dinner reservations.
A very good restaurant, with excellent service, good food and fair wine list. Prices on the high end for Bayeux, but they clearly mean to play to a high standard and did for our visit. Food was good if not great, and it suspect it is never less than we had. Looks to be very reliable.
We booked La Rapiere based on the reviews and our only disappointment was that we didn't have time to eat there again! I suffer from a number of food intolerances and the chef catered to my every need and provided a fantastic meal. My partners meal was also perfect in every way. Linda, the owner/operator, provided impeccable and friendly service... More
Hard to know what to add to previous reviews, except to say that IMHO, this is a seriously good restaurant. The evening got off to a good start after my first attempt to phone for a reservation failed - there was no answer - and I got a call back within minutes: typical of the attentiveness that seems to characterise...
