While spending several days in Bayeux, our host at our terrific Bed and Breakfast (Le Petit Matin) recommended this little place. I'm so glad he did. We entered the restaurant and were warmly greeted and seated at a table along the wall. The place is rather small but tables are very well placed - not unlike New York City restaurants.... More

Although we were on a Sunday evening and had run out of a lot of items it did not detract from the experience of fine French food. We had pre booked otherwise would not have got in.

As we were a group of 8 then eating options become difficult without booking, especially on a Sunday. We saw this whilst walking through the town during Sunday and booked it for the same evening. It was lively and busy when we arrived and felt as if it could be a huge mistake or a great success! The lady and... More

Our hotel concierge recommended Fringale, and we've eaten there twice on two separate trips to Bayeux. It definitely caters to tourists but the service was friendly (they speak English) and the food reasonably priced. I had the Norman chicken and the Creme Brulee and have never been disappointed.

On a quiet winter night before Christmas, we enjoyed a lovely meal at La Fringale. The service was excellent, the food was very good and the atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. My husband had oysters as an appetizer, I couldn't resist the onion soup, which was fantastic! For entrees we had Coquille St. Jacques and Sea Bass with beurre blanc.... More

Went on a thursday evening in December. We turned out to be one of the only diners of the evening. The service was great, I had fresh oysters as it is a regional specialty and they were the best I have had. For the entree I had scallops sautéed and they were very tender. We a house white wine with... More

It was the only place we found opened on rainy Sunday. The staff was very attentive, the place was nice and lovely, but the food wasn't so great.
