My wife and I had dinner at La Marquiere based on the favorable reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. I had made our reservation through Tripadvisor and La Fourchette and received several reminders of our reservation. We were early for our reservation; we had been exploring the hilltop Cité de Carcassonne that evening and wondered if they would... More

Sunday evening dining in Carcassonne usually means the castle as few places in the town are open. This smallish place is in an alley but well signed. Initial impressions were of a formal ambience with a very correct sommelier. Food was refined French cooking-two courses for 26 euros,3 for 36 euros.(some supplements apply). The lobster bisque amuse bouche was a shot... More

My wife and I visited the restaurant following reading trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. The ambience is really pleasant with views over the battlements toward the Black Mountains. Dinner was not Fine dining but very good. My wife had a lobster salad starter which she said was very good. My asparagus was ok. We both had duck for... More

My husband and I had lunch at La Marquiere to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Although we were the only table at lunch, we did not feel uncomfortable. The restaurant is off on a quiet side street, so if you weren't looking for it, you may not find it. Also, the crowds seemed to be families with children so I could... More

In the Cite of Carcassonne, elegant regency style dining room upstairs. Wine list good, food well prepared, interesting and more traditional choices - but not scary! Assiduous service from traditionally attired waiters(esses) and sommelier. Food excellent and good value - recommended.

We ate here having read the reviews on trip advisor and booked via the internet prior to visting Carcassonne. It was meant as part of a birthday weekend treat and was an lovely experience. Service was discreet but once you began to chat to the waiter/waitress they were pleasant and friendly. We had the wines to match the dishes which... More

Firstly the food cannot be faulted. We also opted to have matching wines for our dishes which cost 5 euros per glass but is a good way of enhancing the meal and trying different wines. We ate on Tuesday evening without a reservation. The restaurant was reasonably busy but there was very little atmosphere. The service was efficient but lacked... More

We ate here on my birthday earlier this month. The place was not very full, but then it was a Tuesday evening. The food was very good - I had cassoulet which was well cooked and delicious; my wife had sea bass which was similarly very good. The waiter was very helpful in the selection of wine. We had a... We booked online via Trip Advisor after reading the reviews. It really was an excellent choice. The food was the best that we have had in France, and we were not disappointed! I started with their Ravioli in a mushroom sauce - superb! We both had the Duck, which was beautifully presented, sliced and alternated with mini roast potatoes, circling... More
