From the outside you would pass this great spacious place but when you discovered it, you are very gratefull you did!
We had a taste of chocolates, coffee, warm chocolate milk ( very heavy but tasty melted chocolate without lots of milk !) and a great tarte citron with fresh basilic herbs which was the greatest discovery of our visit...

Firstly, as you should expect, the food here is all superb. We tried the chocolate and a tarte- and the millefeuille certainly looked fantastic although we didn't try it. Portions are adequate, if not a little meagre in size for their price tag (price/value equation- if portions were bigger they could better justify their price, actually the size was perfect...

We had the praline mille-feuille that was the best in Paris (even better than that from a 3-star michelin restaurant - guy savoy). The chocolate though looks normal tastes divine. The hot chocolate however was just good (Angelina does better hot chocolate) but definitely come for its pastry. P.S. as you might have noticed from other reviews JG only do...

If I were to choose one last food before my death, it might just be these mago caramels. It would be a shame to miss these caramels on any trip to Paris.
Visited this place as it was rated to be amongst the best places for a hot chocolate. Desserts and the hot chocolate are not too sweet making them perfect. Avoid going between 3 and 6 if you don't want to queue.
No trip to Paris should be complete without making a visit to this shop. Yes, its expensive, yes, it doesnt have a large assortment of choices on the menu, but if you are into chocolate, and you love Mille Feuille, then this is THE place to visit. Recently, the menu for eat in has been reduced and limited to just...

If you are into chocolate, this is like dying and going to heaven. However, if you go there you will feel very conflicted about telling anyone else. The place has only a few tables and while we walked right in and sat down, there was a line when we left. Our daughter lives in Paris and brought us there as...

Unless you are an absolute chocolate connoisseur, I wouldn't waste the time and money going to this place. I sacrificed dessert at the nearby restaurant 'Pramil' (which is excellent) and came here with my gf for dessert instead. It cost about 7 euros for each chocolate dessert, and 3 or 4 euros for the tea and coffee. The seating area...

I've had consistently superb tarte au citron whenever going to Jacques Genin. It's a nice balance of citrus and sweetness. The custard is absolutely the best part about this tarte, with a peerless velvety creaminess. No bubbles, no coagulation, no nothing but silky citrus cream. The crust was appropriately firm.
The hot chocolate is much better than what you will...
