My wife and i have been here a couple of times before, but we took a couple of friends along this time, and they were bowled over by the flavours and the excellent variety of food. Very reasonable also, 4 people eating, 2 bottles of wine and a couple of Gurka beers = £100 great value in my book. As... More
The menu in the Gurkha restaurant has all of your Indian favourites as well as some speciality Nepalese dishes. The quality of the food is very good - I highly recommend the Choyla to start. The service was very good and the Gurkha beer cold. You won't regret giving this restaurant a try - book to avoid disappointment, it isn't... More
I really enjoyed my meal here when I visited. I've also had a couple of takeaways, which have both been of a high standard. The lamb shank was succulent and falling off the bone, as it should be, and the moolis were cooked perfectly (I do love a mooli). My only gripe would be the size of the restaurant and... More
Visited last Wednesday with a local friend. We have been dining out together in Maidstone's Indian Restaurants since the early '70s. Restaurant was empty about from another party of about 6 people. The very friendly and helpful waiter guided us through the menu, and pointed out the special deal on offer. We chose Nepalese based dishes. The lamb dish was... More
We took a risk choosing to go here because we've experienced good and bad Nepalese cooking, but I have to say this was spectacularly good and I will be heading back here the minute I get the chance. It's a tiny restaurant, more like a little cafe, seating perhaps only 30 people. The service and food was just outstanding, from... More
Hadn't tried Nepalese food before, similar to Indian/Bangladeshi, but with some Oriental influences. Both food and staff very good. Their Gurkha beer is the one to go for. Went to return recently and they were booked out, so pays to book at weekends.
Quite different and very tasty. I would agree with an earlier contributor and take the advice of the staff. There were eight of us, so a lot of different starters and mains and a lot of tasting going on! Based on what I had or tried I would recommend for starters , Momo - dumplings, Choyla - bits of lamb... More
One of the best meals I have ever had. A mix of the usual curries and nepalese food. Excellent service and real value for money. Booking essential as a very popular little restaurant and guests queuing for tables when we left. Will return again and again.
