Nice staff. They squeezed us in without a reservation (I would recommend you make a reservation). Food was delicious and creative. Great by the glass wine list. Nice atmosphere. Go. You'll like it.

The cast of a production I was part of were taken here as a thank you luncheon that would showcase Irish cuisine. But we aren't talking about Atlantic salmon, sherpherd's pie, and stew. This is a modern take on traditional favorites, with little twists.
I enjoyed the three-course lunch, starting with mushroom and goat cheese spread and toast: outstanding. For...

Half a year after my half-week in Dublin, our meal here remains one of my best memories of the trip. What I drank and ate: cider from Llewellyns Orchard, "Kilkeel blossom fillet with smashed crab and caper spuds, baby leeks, spinach, Dublin Bay prawns and butter sauce" (the prawns especially -- my husband had to tell me to stop trying...

Other than The Lime Tree in Kenmare my wife and I couldn't think of a meal that compared with our Monday night meal at Winding Stair. Excellent service, imaginative preparations (that didn't actually push their way into "adventurous," which is fine by me) and wonderful execution. Unless you're an early diner like we are (in by 6 or so) I...

Wonderful restaurant, great setting, great food, great personnel. Creative hearty Irish food. Well prepared, using very decent ingredients... a LOT of flavour. The wines are a bit on the pricy side, but they're very fine. The atmosphere is very good, very cozy, good accoustics.
We had fish starters and then Irish beef steacks. It was very good and the place is nice with large windows over Liffrey's. It's quite expensive (50€/pers for starter, steack and a big glass of wine) but if you come early (before 6:30pm) you can have a menu for less. It seems to be a place known of Dubliners, not...

This restaurant presents food which is original, fresh, tasty and cooked perfectly. Most of what is on offer is sourced locally and a lot of thought is put into the menu which changes regularly. The staff are friendly and the service is attentive and fun. the tables are tightly packed and the restaurant is busy so it's more a place...

Late lunch at Winding Stair was much fun, with good comfort food and atmosphere after we felt trepidation going up those winding stairs. The cab driver did not know the restaurant so when he dropped us off we felt lost. The exterior of the ancient building is not much to look at. We probably would not have entered if we...

We went based on a recommendation from our server at Coppinger Row and it did not disappoint. Food was great and and staff was very friendly. Would definitely go back when in Dublin again.
This is an excellent choice for a varied menu, interesting ambiance, and superb service. Be prepared for a little bit of a climb, but it is well worth the effort.
