The food was pretty good. You MUST have a reservation or arrive early in the evening, or you may as well not bother. We arrived at 7 PM and were told that we would be waiting a very long time (hours). We were able to make a reservation for the following evening, though. It's in the Temple Bar area, which... More

Great ambiance and the furnishing are traditionally dark and pun-like. The staff was well trained and helpful, The variety of boxty options is imposing but the three that we tried were excellent.

With 7 nights in Dublin and surrounding areas, we had the opportunity to dine out in a variety of places. Gallagher's Boxty House was by far the BEST dining experience we had! The service was outstanding, the servers friendly & efficient and the food was very very good! Try the Irish beef stew - it is the best I have... More

We asked two different Dublin locals about where we could get traditional Irish food on our last night Dublin without having to eat in a crowded pub. They both suggested Gallagher's Boxty house. We arrived at 5 pm without a reservation and were sat immediately. First impressions were that the decor was nice but a little stark. Our waiter Bobby... More

On our recent trip to Ireland we were happy to find this great restaurant right in the heart of the Temple Bar area. The food was a great modern take on traditional Irish fare. Highly recommend the pulled pork. Fresh, simple, reasonably priced and amazing. The service was also excellent. If you're in Dublin this place is definitely worth a... More

A group of 12 of us went to gallaghers on a stag do.mimmediately we were surprised by the very attentative waiter who both provided great customer service, but also entertained us well. The food may appear basic, however was of anexceptionally high standard and was very very filling. The decor of the restaurant was good andit was very welcoming. Yoh... More

I have been to Dublin many times, and all except the first, I have been to Gallagher's. Given this, a booking is highly recommended as it gets very busy. This time our group size was five. There were people waiting in the reception area (quite usual, and worth it), as we had booked and were on time, we were shown... More

We were really glad we had reserved a table, as the restaurant was already completely full when we arrived at 6:30pm. The service here was very friendly, but just a bit on the slow side. The food was excellent and portions were ridiculously large. The wine was very reasonably priced, and the house recommendation was excellent.

Thank you for the great review, it's good to read that you enjoyed your meal so much. Apologies if you found the service to be somewhat slow, this is out of character for our waiters as the restaurant is almost always busy and our servers are usually very proficient. We are glad to hear that you found your recommended dish... More
