The Pig’s Ear proved a wonderful introduction to modern Irish cuisine. Taking advantage of the lunch special (2 courses for 18 euro), we arrived early (around 12:30pm on a Tuesday) and succeeded in getting a table in the gracious first floor room (second floor U.S.), overlooking Trinity College. Clientele seemed to be mostly local, including a family party of ten... More

A group of former co-workers meet up every so often for a night out. It was my turn to choose and I chose this restaurant based on my experience last month: the food quality, the location and the price. Booking over the phone was straightforward. I was the first to arrive (early) and sat waiting for the girls. The waiters... More

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by friends and we really enjoyed the starters but the main course was just OK. We may just have hit it on a bad night

Ate here recently on a "lads lunch" and have to say I was really impressed. Lunch menu was great value and food was excellent. Each dish was delicious and very nicely presented. Service was friendly, genuine and unobtrusive. I look forward to a return visit.

Very nice restaurant located on the 1st and 2nd floor of a small house (2nd and 3rd floor for US people!), with a nice decor. We were a group of friends, 15 in total. Excellent food, wines quite pricey, so overall we ended up paying approximately 70 EUR per person, which is quite pricey.

The dinner we had at the restaurant was surprisingly delicious, at the same time avoiding the heaviness that occasionaly comes associated with irish cuisine. We loved the tartare and beets, and pork's belly seemd to melt in the mouth. The salmon was to die for as well. Beware though that the place is small and an advance reservation is must.... More

I was there for an informal work dinner and our guests were well impressed with the food and wine. The dishes, or rather, their ingredients, might sound a bit "weird" when you read the menu but just go with it and you'll love them. It's on the expensive side but it's really good quality and in a nice location so... More

Ate here recently with three girlfriends. Service was very good and accomodating including a last minute change of date with no fuss whatsoever. The food was delicious. I had the terrine to start which is exceptionally good and well deserving of its reputation. Followed with the chicken dish and the custard and rhubarb. All delicious and beautifully presented. I was... More

There are an extraordinary number of restaurants in Dublin where you can pay a relatively large amount of money for an extremely mediocre meal. In the last two months I have eaten both lunch and the early evening menu at The Pig's Ear. On each occasion, I had a very high quality meal, reasonably priced and attractively presented. There's also... More
