We ate lunch on 6th June from the lunch menu: we had a starter of melon and raspberries with coule followed by chicken risotto / veal and a bottle of red wine. The foods were beautifully cooked- first time I've liked veal- and the risotto blended about five flavours beautifully. The staff were helpful and attentive and well worth a... More

The restaurant is off across the road from central station, if you didn't know it was there you would miss it,(a great mistake) you decend into the dining area , and you are treated like royalty, nothing is too much bother for the staff. Before we married my now wife said I had to try it,folks now know how much... More

Possibly the best Italian restaurant I have been to. The decor and vibe are pleasant, the staff are helpful and the food excellent. I asked which pasta dishes didn't have garlic in them because I don't like the smell. I was told that I could order anything from the menu and they would leave the garlic out, this shows that... La Lanterna recently deservedly won the coveted title of Best Italian Restaurant in Scotland. I have never written an online review before, but I simply have to to ensure this fantastic establishment gets the praise it deserves. A perfect venue for business lunches during the day or for romantic occasions at night. It is as close to "Italy" as you... More

Authentic Italian food, it took us right back to Italy. Amazing crusty bread, fantastic red wine, delicious food and limoncello to finish. We were in Glasgow for 3 days and we love to explore and try new things. But this restaurant made us do something we never do--we ate there ALL THREE NIGHTS! The staff were very attentive, too. I... I visited this restaurant after reading rave reviews on trip advisor and I am so glad I did! The food, service and decor were all fantastic: the friendly staff made us feel welcome and everything we ate as part of our three course dinner was to die for. I went for the Insalata Caprese, followed by Saltimbocca alla Romana and... More

Great service, great food. This is a traditional, almost formal dining experience, though not pretentious. Be warned, in the basement with all the trappings it is hard to remember it is lunchtime! All too easy to have 3 lovely courses with a nice wine! Definitely be re-visiting for an evening meal.
