We had tasting menu. - every course was good. The service was well spaced out - not rushed or too lengthy.

Nice fresh food cooked perfectly and great front of house staff.

Excellent as ever. The spiced butternut squash and mango soup really did amuse the mouth. And the rhubarb and ginger rum baba achieved an amazing intensity of rhubarbiness. We'll be back (again).

We visited in April for a special occasion and had the Tasting menu. The service was excellent, food very good quality and the restaurant environment is lovely. On reflection I would have preferred some of the options from the a la Carte menu but that is down to personal taste preferences than a comment on the quality of the food,...

Hello LisaT,
Many thanks for taking the time to review us. Always good for the soul to read a positive report.
Come back in and choose from the "A LA CARTE" (Actually a fixed price three course menu - for those who may be new to us.)
We hope to see you again soon.
All the best
Ian

we visited the Plumed Horse last night, we have tried many times to get a table but always fully booked, from the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome and high quality service, we decided to have the 3 course menu, the canapes and Amuse-bouche were heavenly
as were our starters and main meal, unfortunately my husband...

Hello Domcare,
Firstly, I trust your husband is feeling much better now.
Many many thanks for this review. It's glowing and we love it. I'm blushing as I type.
Of course we hope you will be back with us very soon and that you both manage to see the evening through to a better conclusion.
Best wishes.

I had dinner at the Plumed Horse last Friday evening, on a friend’s recommendation, while I was ther for teh weekend. She had heard good things about the restaurant and wanted me to try it and let her know what I thought.
I arrived a bit early for an 8:00 pm sitting and the host greeted me and promptly seated...

Thanks very much for this lovely review.
The confusion about your booking let's me know who you are. You're a little naughty not to mention that you had booked yourself in on the next night but we managed to fit you in nevertheless!! You also had us searching for your coat at the end of the evening when after 15...

Visited in March for dinner, did not find anything special about the food and the portion of smoked salmon was minute, when I asked for lemon, I was told it did not require it. Vincent and Ruby, the salmon suppliers serve it with lemon and I found the service stuffy and they were doing you a favour by waiting on...

Very interesting - You state that you were in the Plumed Horse in March for Dinner. We only serve Smoked Salmon on our lunch menu. It's NEVER been on any of our evening menus.
You mention only Ruby and Vincent’s Marrbury Smoked Salmon and then go on to say “Food Nothing Special” If you know them as well as we...

The food, service and ambience at The Plumed Horse is amongst the best anywhere and considerably better than my recent experience in a newly starred(why) Michelin eaterie in Edinburgh. From our amouse bouche through to an outstanding Rum Baba every dish was faultless and beautifully presented. There was a precision, integration and depth of flavour which displays a chef who...

Thanks MaximinEdinburgh,
We were all very pleased to read this remarkable review and...I can tell you, secretly of course, that it moved our Tony Borthwick immensely to read your headline.
Best wishes and I hope this reply is more than adequate for your perfect writing.
Cheers

I think it used to have a Michelin star but they recently lost it, and I can't see why.
This place has it all. From an excellent, if quirky shaped room, to beautiful wall art, the highest quality and friendliest of serving staff to great food and a great kitchen ethos.
Even the imposing Mr Borthwick himself graced our table...

Many many thanks for this review. Sometimes it's all a bit of a puzzle when it comes to awards etc. Some of my personal thoughts are best left un-aired here. All I know is that we are still very focused and we do indeed want that star back. It takes more than crossing fingers and we can assure...

It was mine and my girlfriends first experience of dining in a michelin starred restaurant and i have to say it will not be our last.
We went for the tasting menu at a very reasonable price per head, and we both found it absolutely delicious. All courses were prepared and delivered to both look and taste amazing, and I...

Thanks Scotthys 192,
Very glad you enjoyed your visit to us and decided to write so positively.
On the "Corked Wine"...I think there has been a misunderstanding.
Some people who are new to wining and dining don't really understand what "corked" means. Forgive me if you are not in this category but it's not uncommon.
If a bottle of wine...
