Description: Up and coming chef Jason Gallagher has done a fine job in turning the former haunt of local 'celebrity' chef Juliet Lawrence Wilson into a luxurious showcase of his own exciting style of Modern European cuisine. The basement space really is a lovely little restaurant for a romantic meal or special occasion. Black-painted walls decorated with modern art work well with plush golden upholstered chairs, thick white table linen and fairy lights to create an especially intimate atmosphere. Gallagher works with fresh, seasonal ingredients so the menu often changes, but the offerings are guaranteed to be indulgent and of the kind that feel like they're a real treat to be eating. Perfect service too.

Wife and I had 2 course set meal ..pigeon pork belly and black pudding followed by coley with crab risotto and we shared a variety of chocolate treats to finish all washed down with a lovely bottle of wine. The food was well balanced and tastes well thought through .. We really enjoyed this. One small point was that the... More

We visited The Stockbridge restaurant last night on our Wedding Anniversary. As this fell on a Sunday we were fortunate to enjoy the Sunday evening menu plus the BYO policy that is in place on a Sunday. As it was a special occasion we took a bottle of champagne which you are charged corkage of £5 for. All food we... More

This is a lovely cosy restaurant. The food was first class as was the service. I can't believe we hadn't heard more about this place before but we will certainly be back.

This restaurant is one of my favourite, always a great meal. Also were reminded by the staff both when booking and when we arrived that we could byob. Absolutely fantastic.

First time at this busy eatery. Lovely ambience and decor. Great to have linen cloths and napkins. We arrived at 20.00 and placed our order at 20.35 but then had to wait until 21.15 for our starter to arrive! There was again a long wait for our mains. The rabbit starter was however delicious and very well cooked. Not at... More

The Stockbridge Restaurant is such a special place and ideal for an occasion or treat. We enjoyed the Sunday night menu, which is excellent value considering the extremely high quality of the food. The ambience was perfect; the decor is rather dark with interesting paintings hung on all walls and lovely lighting. As it is BYOB, we brought a bottle... More

Outstanding restaurant. Booked the whole restaurant for a 40th birthday meal for family and friends having eaten there five times before. Food and service first class while Jane's organisation made planning the event seem effortless. All my guests felt the same. I echo what others are saying - eating here is a must.

This place was so unexpectedly amazing. We ate here for my birthday meal the day before we took a trip to the highlands. We've done the French Laundry, Eleven Madison Park, Daniel, and a bunch of other bucket list type places. This meal held its own with all of them in our opinions, and for a tiny fraction of the... Ate here with my five friends on Easter Sunday while traveling around Scotland. Great meal, and because of the special Sunday deal we could bring our own wine and Champagne which was a treat (only a small corkage fee was included). The food was fabulous, the service was great and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We could have not... More

We had the Sunday night menu - great value. When we booked we were reminded that we could BYOB which was nice as some restaurants can still make you feel a little awkward about doing this, despite advertising it!(and there are two independent wine shops and several small supermarkets very close). The scallops and coley were beautiful - as was... More
