The lunch tasting menu and matching wine were superb, the sommelier was very knowledgeable and informative, the only critique I would make is that when there's a few empty table it lacks a little atmosphere

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this restaurant on a rainy Saturday and were warmly welcomed into its comfortable surroundings.
We chose to have the Seafood Taster Menu and were not disappointed. Each dish was beautifully presented and extremely tasty. The staff were attentive and extremely helpful.
Not cheap but definitely great value for money, fine dining...

Location: In the Leith area of Edinburgh, there is some parking the the vicinity, which is off street. Martin Wishart's was a top notch Michelin Star experience, to the same standard one would expect, however, I would say that it does not have the same wonderfully special feel of his restaurant in Cameron House, Loch Lomond.
Food: The food was...

We've been lucky enough to visit 3 times of the past couple of years and loved each meal. The setting is beautiful with fantastic service, a knowledgable sommelier, etc so it is perfect for a special occasion.
We hadn't been here for number of years and went as we'd kindly been given some vouchers. On a previous visit we had the tasting menu and my husband was hungry at end of it and went home & had toast.
on this occassion we went for 3 course a la carte. The amuse Bouche was lovely, my starter of...

My husband and I are lucky enough to have eaten here twice now. Last November 2012 was our first visit. The decor is understated & elegant. The taster menu was AMAZING. I took my partner here for his birthday in July 2012 and we were blown away! There is nothing that you can fault. This is not a place you would eat every day or even once a month, I would say for a special occasion for it to be enjoyed properly. If you haven't tried this place, then add it...

7 of us had the tasting menu with wine, and we all agreed that it would be hard to beat. Excellent service too.
The first thing to say is that my experience at Martin Wishart was so thoroughly enjoyable it compelled me to write a review. From the service, the sommelier and, of course, the sumptuous food the evening could not be faulted. The most difficult decision was between the original taster menu and the seafood one; we had both at the table...
