I took 7 pals here after a hard days cycling up from Tarbert (ie Hungry men!) 3 courses each, plenty of wine and coffees for about £400. Perfectly reasonable in my book considering the quality on offer. Plenty of choice, all served by some very proficient staff (all had a sense of humour...which they may have needed!) First visit for... More

Very disappointed. We arrived for the 8.30 sitting there were 4 choices on the mains menu, nothing was appealing. Monk fish, lemon sole, surf and turf or seafood platter hardly amounts to a Seafood Temple. I would check out the menu before you visit, we travelled a fair distance to go to this restaurant. I felt very hungry and awkward... More

We enjoyed the novelty of eating in the old toilet! Don't worry it is now a fine restaurant, not a hint of it's old use. Food good, prices OK. A little cramped, could be warm too, so don't wear thick jumpers. But book ahead and get a seat with panoramic views. Scallops, mussels, lemon sole, and some scrumptious puddings made... More

My husband and I visited during our holiday to Oban. The food was lovely. I had the scallops with a soy and ginger dressing and he had the mussels - both of which we enjoyed very much. I have mussels quite often and found these to be exceptionally cooked with the right tang to the thai style sauce. Our main... More

Great seafood in a magnificent setting. Not cheap but large helpings of delicious food with a view of the sunset over Oban harbour right in front of us. Only 6 tables in this tiny gem of a place so booking is essential.

Having read the tripadvisor reviews I tried to assume that I'd been to a different restaurant. The Seafood Temple in Oban has a fantastic view but that's it .............. It's a seaside cafe that has been converted to shoehorn in up to 18 diners in two sittings 6:15 to 8:15 and 8:30 to close. It did NOT live up to... More

Wow what a disappointment this was. The prices were ridiculous.... London Prices in a cafe...it was a joke. They have 2 sittings... 6.15 and 8.30 so if you take the 6.15 you have to be out by 8.15 at the latest. I expected this to be a top restaurant for the prices. We had booked for the following night but... More

If you are looking for a quick meal of FISH AND CHIPS look again - this restaurant is not for you ! This is a most sophisticated restaurant in an extraordinary building on the seafront just outside Oban. There are uninterrupted views across the sea to the Islands of Kerrara and Mull.. The menu is of local fish and seafood... More

My girlfriend an I visited Oban on Sunday 2nd June, and on TripAdvisor's recommendation searched for the Seafood temple for Dinner. We were fortunate to get a table and were not disappointed. We tried the Scallops which were fantastic, followed by the seafood platter as the main. The Platter had a Whole lobster with oysters, Langoustines, smoked mussels, two types... More

Great food, great location, great service. The only thing I felt was odd was there was no dessert menu, rather the waitress told us what was on offer and left us to decide. Would rather have seen a menu. However, loved the seafood platter and the dessert I had was amazing. Try it yourself.
