My wife and I visited here on Friday 17th May as we had just arrived for a weekend at the adjoining Slieve Donard Hotel. We were both terribly disappointed with our first night's meal in the Percy French. For this being the 'pub' of a four star Hastings Group hotel I was shocked at the lack of atmosphere, the drab... My wife and I called here on Sunday for lunch as we had a few good experiences here a few years back but this time was different. Even though it was lunchtime Sunday and a Bank Holiday weekend and the town was packed with visitors, holidaymakers etc Percy French was quite the opposite. The place was empty with only about... We dined here as a family of 4, children aged 13 and 8, as aprt of a deal with the Slieve Donard Hotel. We had an absolutely gorgeous meal and the staff were extremely helpful!! To top it off they lit the open fire for us as we finished off our drinks before heading back. Really recommend it for all

We were staying in the slieve donard and went here for our tea. Excellent food, excellent service, lovely setting overlooking the sea, very cosy atmosphere. Perfect. No complaints at all.

Down for Wedding Anniversary staying in Slieve Donard Hotel for Weekend, and wanted to try The Percy French, as we got sick of the Buffet in the Hotel! We made the reservation when we arrived at the Hotel, and walked down! Had a wee drink and were then taken into restaurant. We were given plenty of time to browse the menu,... More

Had dinner in here yesterday and it was good. The staff were efficient and friendly - even helping out and going "off menu" to satisfy tbe requirements of a junior member of our party. I got a really lovely Dexter burger. The price is not overly expensive, but not tbe cheapest either. If you do go there for dinner, make... More

I was staying on my own the slieve Donard hotel and wasn't keen to go to the fine dining restaurant alone so decided I'd go to Percy French instead and have a meal in the bar with my book. On arrival I was seated by the fire and given a menu, I sat for around 30 mins waiting for someone... More

Food was ok, chowder wasnt as creamy as i would have like and maybe a bit more fish. Steak was good but the idea of serving it on a chopping board is nice but when you have side orders you have to keep them in the bowl theyve been served in.
