Had a late breakfast (served until 11.30) here last week. Lovely food - I had cinnamon pancakes and bacon and my husband had a Croque Monsieur and a flapjack. The welcome and the service were brilliant - the owner is a lovely girl whose smile and cheeriness lit up the place. We'll be going back!

Only a small cafe with approximately 20 covers so it is hit and miss as to wether you can get in as there are no reservations. We were lucky and after a brief wait we enjoyed an excellent brunch. Staff are very welcoming and despite the buisness of the cafe they seemed to cope remarkedly well under the pressure....was a... More

We were in Newcastle for a long weekend and this little place was right outside our hotel, so we went for breakfast on Sunday and Monday. On both days the food was excellent - locally sourced, with a good choice and well prepared. I would suggest you give it a miss if you are in a hurry or on the... More

Brilliant cafe with fantastic service, food and atmosphere. Shame it's not a wee bit bigger as there aren't that many seats and no room to wait really - perhaps this would spoil the atmosphere though. Would be great if they did a takeaway menu with a slightly lower price than eat in.

Ingredients in our meal were clearly fresh and sourced from best shops! Atmosphere is really cool and relaxing! I will return in near future!

Simple yet elegant. Nice food and good service at reasonable prices. The venue's a little cramped, but that partly adds to the atmosphere. Well worth a try.

This place is simply amazing and deserves the #1 ranking of restaurants in Newcastle. To start with, this place is very small, and I can imagine it getting very busy at peak times, however don't let that put you off. The service is excellent and very friendly, constantly (but not too much) being asked if there was anything else we... More

Quay ingredient is a quirky little cafe were we were treated to excellent service-menu recommendations, offers of more toast/ hot water, attentive waiting and the BEST Eggs Benedict. The menu is very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend. Only downside is the cafe is quite small so can imagine gets quite busy very quickly at peak... More

People who say its not worth the wait just dont understand good food. Its all cooked from fresh! It tastes fantastic no matter what you choose and Maggie and Simon greet you like old friends every time you go in. I can't recommend this place enough. If your in Newcastle and looking for somewhere to go look no further. Fantastic... More

I always go to this place when I'm working in Newcastle. It serves by far the best cafe food I have ever tasted. Today I had the eggs Montreal which was lathered in the best Hollandaise sauce I have had). The menu provides breakfasts and sandwiches which are a little different from the norm and much more interesting for it.... More
