We met some friends for lunch in The Brasserie at the Swan, May 2013. There was nothing to criticise. We all gave full marks - very pleasant interior, staff and service excellent and not exaggerated, the dining room had well spaced tables with COMFORTABLE chairs, and the food was perfect; interesting choice, well cooked and served. The bill worked out... More

Not residents but just visiting this lovely hotel in Lavenham. The food was good quality and very well cooked. Presentation and ingredients were better than that served in many much more expensive restaraunts for dinner rather than lunch. Very good value for money. The setting, ambience and service were good. Welcoming and correct without being either being too stuffy or... More

We were a WI Group out as "ladies who lunch". The main restaurant was fully booked as they had a special offer on so we went to the Brasserie. Very spacious, lovely views but best of all the food was delicious and a great selection. Service was excellent, attentive but not over the top.

just like your Mum used to make. More relaxed than The Gallery at the Swan, with yummy brasserie food. The steak and burgers are excellent, but nothing could beat the tangerine pud. Not to be missed and excellent value. Buzzing at weekend lunchtimes.

We had dinner at the restaurant and we waited a long time before the waitress took our order. We continued waiting after this and when we asked about our order including drinks, the same waitress said: "remind me what you want". I told her that she had taken the order in the first place but she had also forgotten this.... More

Visited The Swan on Mother's Day - my daughter's treat. Having lived in Suffolk for over 15 years, this was (incredibly) the first time I've visited the Swan. I've passed it, admired its facade, but never eaten there before - and would never eat there again. Our party of four included my grandson, aged 4. We entered the building, looked... More

The Sunday lunch was very average, acceptable price wise but the wine was expensive - we all expect 100% mark up but Sancere was 200% - yes we still had it but!

We were a group of six, including two children. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table. The decor is very nice and the property is well maintained. Our seating included some plastic bistro chairs which I felt didn't quite work with the overall decor although they were reasonably comfy. Mostly the service was very good and the staff... More

Food first rate and I love the relaxed atmosphere. Service was quick and attentive. Scones and cakes in the cream tea could be better but sandwiches were excellent. Cafetierre coffee could be smoother somewhat bitter.
