This is a lovely quiet pub in the pretty village of Preston St Mary. They put on a great feast for my 40th. Very nice owners, friendly and helpful.

We were stopping just down the road from the Six Bells so this was our local for the week. George and Vanessa made us very welcome the minute we walked through the door. Quality beers on draught. Superb choice of meals available all freshly cooked by Vanessa. So good was the food that we had 3 meals there. Leave room... More

We turned up to eat not having booked. The food was good and genourous portions. Beer was good.

Just outside historic Lavenham this pub can be neglected but if you want good home cooking at reasonable prices this is worth a visit. Sunday lunch at only £7.95 is one of the best in the area, but you must book by Friday. Pub can be very quiet but this is a problem many rural village pubs suffer from. Small... More
