Description: Set in leafy Wandsworth Chez Bruce has rave reviews from critics and locals alike. Looking from the outside like a Parisian brassiere its set menu, £40 for 3 courses, is inspired by classic and regional French cuisine with a whiff of Spain and Italy. Seasonal Starters could include Warm Summer Vegetables with a Poached Duck Egg and Truffle Dressing or Quail Pithiviers with a Salade Paysanne. Mains are refreshingly different - Saddle of Rabbit with Creamed Girolles or Baked Goats Cheese with Caponata for the veggies. Desserts reflect the time of year such as Peach Sorbet with Peach and Ginger Compote. As you sit in its simply furnished dining room peruse its dazzling 43 page wine list ranges from European classics to rarer finds from around the globe including Canada.

The service was excellent at this popular and renowned eatery. My cucumber soup was perfect. And my host's fish salad was good. He was impressed by the egg. We both had the sea bream for a main. This was passable, but not memorable. The dish came with the skin side up, but had to be discarded. We had the impression... More

I rarely emerge from a restaurant so impressed with every aspect that I describe it as "faultless" but Chez Bruce literally ticks all the boxes. The food was superb in both flavour and presentation and the service was impeccable. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful throughout and generated the impression of being proud of heir involvement in a very special... More

This is a deservedly renowned restaurant in Wandsworth. The service is impeccable from arrival to the bill. It's professional and friendly. Our waiter was pleased to take a photo of us - not something you can expect in many up-market restaurants. They have made a lovely room in a classic London building, It's light and airy and the noise level... More

Visited with husband and daughter for Sunday lunch. Starters were excellent, main course for me was not at all to my palette and when I enquired if it was the Chef's intention to be so "salty" (which it was) the dish was removed at once, an alternative choice was offered, served with speed. The remainder of our meal more than... More

I first went here 10 years ago. The food was great but as a group we felt very unwelcome. Fast forward and invited back again, nothing's changed. Food was excellent especially the first and main courses, wine was fantastic but the only person who smiled and was friendly was the sommelier. Not sure what it is but the staff seemed... More

Great experience at Chez Bruce, service was impeccable and the food was amazing. The 3 course menu is excellent value at £45 per head, I will definately be visiting again soon. The cod was so tasty and seasoned perfectly. The wine menu is extensive and the although we didn't have the cheeseboard it did look great.

I had lunch here with my son - as a treat for his birthday, having been recommended it by friends. We were certainly not disappointed and the quality of the food was excellent, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Excellent menu with good choice of food. The only down side was that we were sat just inside the door close to... More

We had been looking forward to a family meal here for a long time. However since they have expanded the restaurant it has become less of a special occasion, more a quick place to eat good food, service has gone down also. Such a shame!

This was our 3rd visit in 16 months to Chez Bruce, all Sunday lunches. It's a pleasure to report there's no variation in quality, it's highly professional, friendly and reasonably priced, £35 for the fixed price lunch excluding wine. The 3 of us each had different starters: wild garlic soup with hot croutons & a poached egg; steak tartare and... More

Our son had booked lunch for us at Chez Bruce and it was a very enjoyable experience. The service was impeccable and the food creatively presented and delicious. The only slight downer was that we were seated near a lady who was treating grandchildren to lunch and she obviously had a hearing problem. We found it difficult to hear ourselves... More
