I recently booked the Wild Boar for a birthday treat for my boyfriend as we have family and friends who have been before and raved. I paid for the superior bedroom which included breakfast and also £60 towards dining at the restaurant. As I know the hotel has its own smokehouse, we were keen to sample the food! The room... More

We arrived on a bank holiday, no problem parking, and were given a good table. We ordered just the main course of steak and ale pie with a puff pasty topping and vegetables. The table next to ours, that had ordered the full courses earlier had their starters arrive which were enormous. When our main courses arrived they were small,... More

Myself and 2 friends visited this establishment the other weekend by pure chance( we go abit lost finding our hotel). The weather was scorching and we decided to pop in for a quick drink. On arrival the staff were very stand offish and glared at us as we stood at he bar no smile no hello. We then had a... More

After driving up to the Wild Boar and fining plentiful parking spaces, the delight if the decor inside was the start of a wonderful experience. The Sunday Lunch menu was mouth watering and the actual meal wasn't a dissapointment. The service was very good and polite. Overall a very good meal and would recommend it for couples or families.

There is a reason it is almost impossible to get a table here between nine and six without a reservation. The restaurant is open plan, meaning you can watch the chefs at work. The atmosphere is fantastic, with lots of exposed wooden beams (mind your head!) And roaring log fires. The staff are very friendly and extremely warm and welcoming,... More

Amazing food, great value, wish it was local to me to visit more often. Was the perfect place for a special occasion meal.

I booked a couple days in advance via email & their response was quick and professional. As a family of steak lovers we were looking forward to a nice meal, we were not disappointed. I thought I'd try something different so had the Boar steak & the rest had what they described as the best steak they've ever had !... More

We stayed at The Wild Boar for 4 nights at the end of March. We had a family room which myself and my husband shared with our two kids. The room was a good size and is one of the last rooms awaiting renovation. Saying that, it was fine for us and was comfortable. The breakfast was a good selection... More
