Great country pub hidden away in rural Herefordshire. Have eaten here on numerous occasions. Food is always freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious Beer is well kept and always excellent.

Table booked for 6.30 when we arrived they hadn't opened yet. The 10min wait was worth it. A very plesent young lady looked after us. Served drinks, took the orders and was very helpful when we where ordering. The meal was beautiful, all a bit master chef looking and master chef tasting. The place was packed the atmosphere was great.... More

Had lunch here today , this is my second visit to this pub and both times I have had a good meal. The beer is well kept , meal prices are slightly above average for a country pub , but so is the quality of the food served. The location is lovely right in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside.... More

Was treated to a local Sunday lunch last weekend. The pub is in a tiny hamlet close to the River Wye and probably sums up what an English pub should be. Beautiful setting amongst trees and flowers, excellent menu and good prices. I had the roast lamb lunch with lashings of vegetables and my wife really enjoyed the hake dish... More

We eat regularly at the Cottage, and we will continue to do so. It is charming, cosy, comfortable with a superb chef and lovely staff. Whether Sunday lunch or evening dinner, the food does not disappoint, always beautifully cooked and presented. On last Saturday's visit we had the hake and the chicken pie, both excellent, in fact my dining partner declared... More

When our friends told us that we would be driving for an hour to have Sunday lunch, we thought it had better be good. We were not disappointed! We approached The Cottage to find it bathed in sunshine. The friendly staff offered us out table as reserved by the bar but suggested that we may want to take the opportunity... More

First visit today (2.6.13) for Sunday Lunch - beef was delicious- hot with homemade Yorkshire pudding and lovely range of vegetables. My husband had the lamb which he also said was delicious. Great, friendly service- food served promptly. Delicious desserts ( yes we did succumb!). Beautiful, country setting- lovely outside seating area also - would be ideal even if only... More

Have been to the Cottage a number of times, mainly for Sunday lunch, which is excellent, food served ' piping hot ' & cooked to perfection. Also very good value. Old fashioned pub with quality food, beer, local cider & a good choice of reasonably priced wines. Staff always cheerful & have been very helpful to my wife who requires... More

Just returned from a long weekend spent hiking with friends in the Wye Valley. We had a very pleasant 2-night stay here: the rooms are comfortable (without being luxurious, but that's just ideal for an outdoors weekend), the food and beer are very good and the position on the bank of the Wye in a tiny hamlet is picturesque. Very... More

Six of us went to the Cottage of Content for Sunday Lunch on easter Sunday. The food was of good quality however the size of the Vegetable / Roast Potato dish was measly to say the least. We had to immediatlely ask for more vegetables and potatoes. the extra veg took ages to come and we never got the extra... More
