Just been here for sis in law's birthday celebration. 30 of us in all. Started woth champagne on terrace. Cannot imagine how they did rare roast rib of beef to this scale without compromising in any way. Starters & Puddings adequate - service friendly and efficient. Lovely light airy converted village schoolhouse with great atmosphere. The "doorstep sandwiches" also looked... More

A recent visit to the Moreton tea rooms left us disappointed. The Service was poor...we had to wait nearly 40 minutes for our food and had to remind the waitress for our drinks that had been ordered at the same time as our food. The tea rooms were not particularly busy. Food: if you are going to charge high prices... More

We visited Moreton Tea Rooms about four years ago and remember the gorgeous cakes, particularly the Dorset apple cake which came with a ridiculously generous portion of clotted cream. We returned last weekend for coffee and cake. Dry cake, lukewarm coffee, clotted cream in a thimble sized dish and surly service. Overall poor. And very expensive for what we had.... More

We are sorry you had such a disappointing visit to us this time. I wonder if you could tell me if it was Saturday or Sunday? I'm sorry you didn't make the problems known at the time as we could either have rectified things or, at the very least, refunded you as this is certainly not anywhere near our usual... More

We visited these tearooms on a dog walk by the river ford and were very pleased to find that the owners were dog-friendly. You are in a separate room from the main teashop where the food is kept but it is very nice and easier to keep the dog's drooling at bay anyway! A nice room, with interesting information about... Thank you for my cheese and charcuterie platter off a la carte. Greatly received. Only a forest walk away and I will keep visiting. Ideas are evolving with the food, keep it going and you will be placed on the culinary map.

Siberian winter Moreton Tea Rooms & Bistro This is a light, airy and quite beautiful venue. Maybe a tad too airy as the temperature outside was 1 degrees centigrade and the serving lad kept leaving the door open, it being beyond his ability to carry a tray AND close a door. Oh, here's a thought, he could have put the... More

Thank you for your review and we are delighted that you have scored us 5/5 for our food! As you may have seen from our response to a previous review, we have had a nightmare recently with sourcing a part for our boiler which broke down in the week before Easter. I am sorry you had such a cold visit... More

Lovely tea rooms, a great find as we were driving round looking for food and drink. Charming building with a lot of space. The cream tea was one of the best we've had, fresh, warm, huge scones and plenty of tea. Lots of choice including apple & cinnamon and ginger & treacle scones. Would have liked to try everything. Friendly... More

We have been visiting Moreton Tea Rooms for the past 2 or 3 years, since we discovered it by chance whilst out walking. This is a fascinating building, once a village school now a charming Tea Room that still retains the feel of its past. It has a large courtyard style garden which is very pleasant on a sunny day.... Lovely venue in the old school at Moreton. The food is wholesome and home made. Prices, reasonable. Staff could have been a little more attentive, but service was ok. Had a lovely lunch here after visiting Clouds Hill, the Dorset retreat of T.E.Lawrence - and then the nearby church at Moreton, where he is buried. Not unexpectedly, he figures highly... More

Arrived by bike around ten minutes after opening on a cold morning looking forward to eating and drinking something hot. I went to the counter to order coffee and a breakfast and was served by a somewhat surly woman who appeared to be training a new member of staff. I sat at a table next to a fan heater as... More

I'm so sorry you had such an unsatisfactory visit to the Tearooms. We have had a terrible couple of weeks as our heating broke down and the plumber has been unable to source a part for the boiler. We have endeavoured to heat the place with electric heaters but it means the mornings have been a bit chilly as it... More
