Recently changed hands. Offering same Carvery which is excellent, however the menu for all other food is very expensive and poor choice for what is primarily pub food, e.g Fish and chips £11.95 . Drinks have also appeared to have crept up in price. Lager and glass of white wine £8.90 . More

Visited Sunday 15th April. A standard carvery, plenty of veg and potatoes to help yourself to - all a bit lacking in flavour. Cheap enough though at £7.95 per person. More

Visited the Royal last night so pleased with the food lovely varied menu something for everyone cooked and presented to a very high standard. Good quality and well cooked. Plenty of choice and good value for money. The food could have been a little hotter but understandably it is not easy to keep food piping hot. Would recommend it to friends. More

We were at a private party on Saturday night and the staff were nice and friendly and the buffet food was very nice. We've eaten here on previous visits to Torquay and always enjoyed the food. More

The Royal Carvery is a pub like restaurant, which offers good, basic meals at a reasonable price. There is nothing fancy about this place, but it does provide a filling, hot meal. Had a meal here in January and probably eat here once every few months. Carvery is consistently good and fair priced at £7.95. Nice clean place with great views over Babbacombe Downs. More
