Walking into this quaint tea shop and you feel like you have gone back in time. Tea served the way it should be. And the scones were to die for.
After returning from a truly charming experience I am some what surprised at any negative comments made from previous guests. I found the restauranteur to be very welcoming and friendly without being over the top. The ambience had been created by the fine details that had been given to the Christmas decor and the splendid silverware that was used to... More
On the surface, this is the quintessential English Tea shoppe ! Clean, chintzy, trinkets galore.....this place appears to ooze charm. Sadly the service was just OK ; not a 'cold' welcome, but definitely not 'warm' -more clinical than friendly ! The soup of the day ( Broccoli & Stilton ) was delicious and the portion size was very good. The... More
Six ladies on short break in Dartmouth found the Singing Kettle and were delighted to see gluten free products, the tea room was very tweet but well presented, everything on the table was placed in certain positions, one of us moved a cup which was put back in place by one of the owners, after ordering various items two of... Very over the top tea room- which I loved! Service was fab, tea was lovely. My husband and son had a meal there and enjoyed it. I had a scone which was warm and fluffy and tasted great. A nice atmosphere and lots to look at while you're in there. Love the fresh flowers.
Set in a side street, this attractively decorated tea shop offers good lunches. We were aware though that the abrupt service and manner spoilt it as a relaxing place. Turnover of tables seemed to be of supreme importance,, making you feel unwelcome to linger. We have visited this tea shop whilst holidaying in Dartmouth twice but the imbalance of good... More
We were attracted to this tea shop by the arrangement of flowers outside. Its a stylish but rather "fussy" restaurante. We had a nice sandwich each served with a salad garnish and crisps. The leaf tea was served in a silver pot with tea strainer and extra water pot, complete with an egg timer to show when we should pour...lovely... More
Having visited here with my parents and collie as a teenager i thought it would be a nice place to stop. Boy was i wrong. We came in on a very damp day, looking a bit bedraggled adorned with umbrella, rucksack and walking boots. Waiter was quite rude when entering "just find a table" i wish i had left. We... More
We visited on a Tuesday morning. Teapots, an extensive selection of leaf tea with tea strainers, and sugar tongs - how wonderful to find somewhere catering to tea lovers. Our toasted teacakes were beautifully served and it just a shame we live 150 miles away.
As a party of 9 we ordered a substantial amount of tea and cakes at this cafe. I don't drink tea or coffee so often drink hot water which I am happy to pay for. However £1.80 felt a bit steep so I decided to just have some tap water with my tea cake. The waiter told me this would... More
