we had a terrific meal there on a sunday evening. very interesting flavours. the ribs are really special!
This restaurant serves something different. Many of the dishes are African in origin, not always to everyone's taste because the main courses tend to be quite sweet which Western palates may not be accustomed to. However we think it's good to try different things and we certainly enjoyed our meal here. The ingredients are excellent and the service very efficient... More
As soon as we arrived, the owner welcomed us and was very clear about what dishes were on and which fish was unavailable. I ordered the Cornish fish platter and she gave me a step by step guide at my request on how to tackle eating a crab. The sauce that was served with it was fantastic and complemented the... More
On a weekend visit to Falmouth, we were looking for something different from Hotel Food, as good as it is at The Penmere Manor Hotel. We found the Amanzi Restaurant during the day, luckily we booked the last table for Saturday Evening. The food was fantastic, the menu very different to all the other restaurants. Service was very good despite... More
One if the best roast beef dinners I have had ( other than homemade), the beef was very tender, lots of gravy, enormous Yorkshire puddings and a good mix of vegetables. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was I thought the staff a little abrasive, horseradish had to be asked for and it took a long time to get... More
Went there last night, tried a few places in Falmouth...which i'll review later but this one was blinding, the staff were very friendly and helpful, I had the Bobotie (minced lamb dish)...which was a bit like moussaka but much less greasy and more fragrant. The home made ginger beer was really good as well.
I visited Amanzi on the basis of reading good reviews on this site - I therefore had high expectations and was very excited about eating there. I'm flabbergasted over how it's managed to rank so highly and has had any praise at all. Six of us ate dinner there a few weeks ago and we were all utterly disappointed over... More
Everything about this restaurant is superb, one of the most enjoable dining experiences we've ever had
Amanzi is fairly new in Falmouth and we've been visiting the town regularly for the last 10 years or so, and intending to go to Amanzi for a while - but we've got 2 young children and that always makes things complicated. We decided to go, and with the kids (risky!) on the basis that it sounded friendly enough to... More
Last night on our trip to Falmouth in August. Ended our holiday with great night. Food delicious and that little bit different. Owners hospitality was very welcoming despite the restaurant being very busy. My 13 year old son loved the homemade ginger beer, I agree it tasted wonderful - pity we couldn't get them to spill the beans on the... More
