Description: Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, has held a Michelin star for nineteen years running surely a record outside of London. Under the direction of Executive Chef Simon Radley the exceptional modern British menu changes seasonally and uses only the finest ingredients. The cellar is also renowned, having one thousand bins and a sommelier of prodigious knowledge. The dining room itself is as dashing as you would expect with comfy chairs, oriental carpets, fine woods, original artwork, ebony pillars and many-layered tones of gold and taupe. The service is distinguished by its warmth and professionalism. Top marks.

I have eaten at so many fantastic restaurants over the years but I can honestly say this was the best. I'm not sure what single thing made it so good but I believe it to be a combination of excellent service, great wines & ambience. Simply wonderful

Superb from start to finish. The canapés and bread board, through an amazing array of dishes all high quality ingredients cooked to perfection. We didn't have the wine tasting menu which looked a bit steep at £55 per person but did have the food tasting menu from the mid week offer which gives excellent value also at £55 per person.... More

Every year I take my chef boyfriend out for a lovely meal and this year I choose the Grosvenor on the basis on their amazing Wednesday deal (tasting menu £55 rather £110). It was just the most fabulous meal, the food was truely delicious. I would recommend this to anyone especially at £55, it is a steal! Beware, drinks were... More

Ok so it's pricey, but for me it's worth every penny! We had the taster menu and all the "boys" had the wine taster. The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff were just lovely, very attentive but not at all snobby - perhaps with the exception of the sommelier who was very informative but not as approachable as the... The restaurant is lovely, the hotel itself is smack in the middle of Chester, and a beautiful building. The staff are very formal, but attentive and knowledgeable. The food is amazing. We had the taster menu - we didn't want each course to end. The belly pork was a highlight. The ended up following the taster menu with cheese and... More

We love fine dining and Simon Radley compares with the very best. The tasting menu was a delightful journey, the wine was smooth velvet and the service was impeccable. A treat for any foodie.

We were on a pamper weekend and were looking forward to a special meal.mwe both went for the taster menu and I had the wine accompaniment. The ambience is fantastic with the staff being attentive but not over fussy. They are good at gauging how you want your service! Canapés in the bar were quite large: a fabulous smoked salmon... More
