Thanks to the team at Midsummer House for a wonderful evening at beautuful meal. The taster menu and flight of international wines was perfectly matched. The service was outstanding. Look forward to the next visit. Even managed to discuss The Ashes with the maitre de!

We visited on Tuesday and we can honestly say that it was the best meal we have ever eaten. We have been lucky enough to eat in other Michelin star resturants but Midsummer House is a cut above the rest. Daniel demonstrated that he has a complete command of all the ingredients and produce on the menu. From the first... More

My wife booked this for my 70th birthday. The evening was very special with the staff making you feel relaxed and comfortable. The food was very good but not fantastic for a Michelin restaurant. My wife and myself both were of the same opinion that none of the ten courses had that wow factor. I have eaten in many Michelin star... More

This was booked for our anniversary, driven by our following of Daniel Clifford, our admiration of not only his cooking but his leadership and team skills. The staff were very welcoming and eager to make sure we were comfortable, the surroundings were very elegant and relaxed. We had the Market menu, I honestly cannot say which was my favourite course,... More

We went for Friday lunch with no expectations but have to say, it was amazing. The amuse bouche were lovely... Yes, two before we had our first course. All of the courses were amazing and delicious and the portions were great too. Fantastic restaurant and chocolates and donuts after lunch gorgeous! If you want to go somewhere for a special... More

On a day trip from London we ate lunch at this restaurant, walking across the park from the University. Sitting in the greenhouse-like room was part of the attraction but the food and wine were the real draw. The other tables seemed to be having a many-course chef's tasking menu but we just had the prix-fixe three course lunch. It... More

We came to Midsummer House on Saturday. We had booked it a while back to get it for my birthday as it is the kind of place to come for an occasion. It is not cheap. In fact it is rather expensive. With wine (and not an expensive bottle) it came to about £130 per person (with service), but like... More

Our first visit to Midsummer house for saturday lunch. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel very special. The waiting staff are very professional without being intrusive - even down to getting me soda water and a napkin when i spilt food on my dress! Nothing is too much trouble. We decided to go... More

We enjoyed a birthday meal here last weekend. It is certainly a beautiful restaurant however we unwittingly booked our table for the Saturday evening of the Midsummer Festival which took place immediately outside the restaurant (music stage, thousands of revellers etc). Bridges and roads were closed so it was very difficult to find our way to the restaurant. Coming from... More

Our first visit to this well respected restaurant. The menus offered sounded very nice and we plumped for the garden menu and accompanying wines , all very nice but in insight it was one pudding to many on offer ( 3 in total). Would we return? probably not as we both felt it to be a little bit pricey this... More
